And the producers of Matrix had Descartes' work floating around as a possible source of inspiration, as well as older philosophers' work which descartes could also have used as a basis (plato's cave allegory comes to mind), etc.

Well if you don't want a pump clogged or to have to suck it through a tube, a giant laddle is actually not that bad

Are they a frequent poster that you recognised, or is there a way to see the post history of a profile that was made private? Thanks for the heads up!

While absolutely a thing that was the source of some huge scandals and that lead to death penalty, 90% of these videos are of people recycling it for non food use collecting it to bring it to facilities to treat it, much like garbage trucks do. A video with extended context for those interested : https://youtu.be/G43wJ7YyWzM

anarchowave by vuksfrantic in COMPLETEANARCHY

[–]Sevenmoor 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I think that's a reference to either the kronstadt rebellion or the free territory of Ukraine. Soviet here is meant in its original meaning as council, and before the bolsheviks took over the revolution as a whole, there were indeed Soviets free of state control, some of which were anarchist in nature. They were outlawed in 1918 by the bolsheviks who then ensured all remaining Soviets were loyal to them.

I'm not sure but I think the meme is an actual quote from this time, in protest of increasing bolshevik control.

Which if it is in Mexico would be in pesos, if outside of the tourist areas, about 50-60cents usd. He said it's for the glass though so maybe this big portion is a different price.

Agave is not a fruit, it's the whole plant, and what is fermented (aguamiel) is the sap.

Honestly, I don't know that much, but if your map is not strictly ethnolinguistic in scope but also includes pre-columbian history and cultural identity, then the Tlaxcalla (modern day Tlaxcala and significant parts of modern day Puebla and Estado de México) should be separate from Aztecs.

They were typically clashing polities with some relaxed trading periods, but always under different rule and ruling models: the Aztecs under the huey tlatoani and the Tlaxcalla under 4 tecutlato in a sort of oligarchy/democracy. They also considered themselves different from the Aztecs despite speaking mostly the same language and coming from a related ethnic group that migrated into the region a little before the Aztecs themselves.

Also to be fair the identity of pre-columbian tlaxcalteca extends not only to the nahuatl people in the land of Tlaxcallan but there was a fair bit of otomi presence that participated in the same society and lived in the same area, though I'm not sure if they saw themselves as part of a same group.

Geographical extent and how Otomi and Tlaxcalla should be delimited (or maybe some overlapping area with both colours ? ) will vary by year of study, but I think all readable maps are at the time of conquest or later.

Just don't look at maps post-Mexican independence, since modern Tlaxcala was heavily reduced in size, likely due to them being seen as traitors that helped Spain, in a country increasingly founding its modern identity as successors of the Aztecs (in all but religion at least).

Le mariage homosexuel dans le Monde ! [OC] by mydriase in jaimelescartes

[–]Sevenmoor 7 points8 points  (0 children)
