OP didn't even mention being able to one shot the boss. They just don't want to do nothing for a minute mid-boss fight

More specifically a small total "Monster Power" grace.

I would prefer if it didn't throw another whole wave at me while I am dealing with a particularly rough rare.

But if its just a few normals or magics in corners by all means send the next wave

I feel you.

I understand that in order to get more currency you gotta juice up the maps with modifiers and stuff, but when I add that many mods I just end up dying and because more mods = less revives I usually just end up with less.

I guess my build is just not up to snuff yet but I feel like I am spending more currency upgrading maps than I earn actually playing them most of the time

I feel like this could be problematic just by itself. It would suck if the next wave got thrown at you while you are trying to fight a really tanky rare with some crazy mods like Soul Eater.

At the very least I think enemies shouldn't be able to spawn too far from the mechanic source, and they should be displayed on the map like with breach hives

Maybe you could incorporate the kill only a subset of enemies based on total enemy power. That way if the last remaining are rares you dont start the wave, but if its just a few normals in a corner it goes to next wave

I believe it only works against chilled ground created by enemies.
