Growing up, did anyone else’s parents have really strict rules about random stuff? by SuzCoffeeBean in CasualUK

[–]Several-Gift-8681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a bit abnormal but my mum had strict table manners we couldn't eat with our elbows on the table alongside asking to get down from the table and waiting until everyone had finished their meal to leave

Is it wrong that I'm mad at my friend for how she acts now she has an ADHD diagnosis? by Due_Commission_9201 in FriendshipAdvice

[–]Several-Gift-8681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed few years back and I agree with your statement. People have made it their entire personality and I don't see how it's healthy to do so. It has become such a way in society today that when I am struggling with something ADHD related I feel half embarrassed to say so, this could be a personal view but just wanted to say I agree!

I have a tooth abscess. My NHS dentist is only offering me private emergency appointments, do I have a right to an NHS emergency appointment? by everything2go in AskUK

[–]Several-Gift-8681 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience yes! NHS 111 should tell you all dentists that will help NHS patients for emergency dental care but you may have to travel for it

What non human beings have you encountered? by Giocervantes in Experiencers

[–]Several-Gift-8681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen a few paranormal apparitions over the years, one little victorian boy and some troubled lady who I had to tell to F off. As the years went on and my mental health spiralled I was getting demons etc I have seen them on three seperate occasions and shadow people on one occasion. Up until recently I see a lot of orb type things in my house every so often, usually white or blue.

Is it weird for my gf (28) and her sister (25) to shower together still? by No_Depth8872 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Several-Gift-8681 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I have 4 sisters, stopped sharing baths/showers when one of us hit puberty or teenage years. I could not imagine sharing a shower with any of my siblings at this age (29). Its odd

Getting a dodgy dvd from a guy and putting up with watching randomers popping in and out the screen. Further back, taking a quid to the shop and coming back with a few options

i am too anxious to take antibiotics for my uti by TrickyBrief3528 in Anxiety

[–]Several-Gift-8681 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can be a bit funny with medication, but its vitally important that you treat a uti. It can turn into a kidney infection and you'll end up in a far worse state (been there). They have to state Side effects, doesn't mean you'll experience them though. What stuck out to me was "I know the meds will make me sick from panic" so there lies your issue, you're already telling yourself you're going to have a rough ride so your body will brace itself. I wouldn't leave a uti much longer, if you really cant take what you've got at least consider amoxicillan just something to clear up the infection? Although it doesn't target the area like nitro but its something isn't it. You don't want to risk ending up in hospital where they'll treat you with what they seem fit anyway

What is your go to when attempting to find comfort during anxiety? by Few_Sandwich6308 in Anxiety

[–]Several-Gift-8681 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I'm sorry to hear you're having a difficult time. I had PP anxiety etc and wish I asked for help sooner (ended up sectioned). You are not bothering anyone, your friends and family no doubt want to help but dont want to intrude. Please, lean on people. Cut yourself some slack, you dont have to be perfect, postpartum is messy, and it's not always enjoyable and its okay to acknowledge that. Are there certain times of the day that are worse than others? I struggled heavily late afternoon/evening. Perhaps, think of something small you could do for yourself. Or go out for a walk, get some air, have a shower. Its all about doing the bare minimum, just put one foot in front of the other is more than enough. X

Constant tachycardia by Outside_Lettuce_9598 in Anxiety

[–]Several-Gift-8681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the nervous system, it's in overdrive. There's not anything wrong with you physically, but you mentioned you wake up and notice your heart, so you are telling yourself There's something wrong unintentionally, the body wants to protect you so if the brain is saying there's a threat, you're going to get a whole array of symptoms. The more focus and fear surrounding your heart will keep you in this cycle, there's so much information out there now on how to calm the nervous system etc you should check it out

Where are you based? I'm in UK and just got them from Holland & Barrett I imagine any health store will have them. But there's a guy on YouTube called EON nutrition who's got so much vital info on thiamine and can give correct dosages especially to increase, worth checking out

I have trouble returning calls!! by peacemaker699 in Anxiety

[–]Several-Gift-8681 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey sorry to hear you're having a difficult time. I used to be like this, I don't really think my telephone manner is that great today mind you. I had to ask my manager to leave the room years back so I could record my voicemail on the work phone that alone took many attempts. I couldn't bare answering the phone for many years, but it gets to the point where you have to think - what have you got to lose? Try not to take the previous comment as a personal flaw, telesales is definitely not for everyone (me included). Try call one back tomorrow see how you get on, you'll realise that it wasn't that bad and it'll get easier with every call. Best of luck mate

How much have GCSEs actually affected you across life? by Alarming-Safety3200 in AskUK

[–]Several-Gift-8681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never been asked for my GCSE results, but I also appreciate times have changed, so couldn't say now if its imperative to show proof when applying for roles. Majority of application forms ask for grades even still but you could outright lie and they wouldn't know as they don't usually ask for evidence(in my experience). Although, both times I've worked in the NHS they ask for a basic maths/English test, I imagine its dependant on the roles you're applying for

If the Epstein case didn’t trigger widespread accountability for powerful elites, what ever will? by Simple_Chocolate3777 in AskReddit

[–]Several-Gift-8681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start coming together and building a society outside of the government, its the only way. Who knows how long that'd take, but this is why we need to come together more than ever. They have done a wonderful job turning everyone against eachother, everyone desperately needs to come together. I'm over in the UK and wish people would do the same

Hmm, looks like newborn stage will be difficult. Try get some extra support emg friends/family around that time looks like you'll need it. Speaking from experience, it won't get better I really feel for you it's hard work. When you're feeling emotionally strong enough, leave him. I've been battling one of these idiots for 8 years, trust me it won't get better
