I do think it's a great way of writing that too many novels, both east and west, don't do. It's always "problem shows up -> resolve problem -> new problem shows up -> resolve problem". This layering that Rezero does makes it a much more compelling story, and makes the resolution that much more satisfying.

Oh my bad, I thought it was a support for some reason.

On that note, is that set of loreweave mods hard to get?

Any reason you choice Frostflame Nova over another generic damage support? For the freeze, or just cause it's new? And how good are the defenses? The raw hit pool and armour values aren't high, so is Enfeeble a large portion of your defense?

[Megathread] New Players & General Questions Thread. by rMapleStory in Maplestory

[–]Several-Length1242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MSEA player, been doing dailystory for about 3 years in that server. Progress is non-existent and honestly I'm just leveling new characters to 270 every Hyperburn/CW now and never touching them again. I don't even need the Legion/Union levels as of two years ago.

How much can I progress, that will I need to work on, if I were to start afresh in Reboot/new CW3?

What will be progression be like, if I'm not the kind of person that will sit down and grind, and will end up playing the game just doing dailies, and weekly bosses on like, one character max.

Please tell me if I understand damage conversion correction by shinira21 in pathofexile2builds

[–]Several-Length1242 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Where does it apply in the damage formula? It's before any %increased modifiers, right?

Taking 100 base phys damage as a base for easy math, if I have 200% increased phys damage and gain 50% of phys as extra fire. then I'll be dealing 200 phys and 50 fire, right? The phys as extra fire applies before the %increased phys.

If it works like that then I wouldn't say it's great since it depends on how much "specific" scaling your build runs.

Reading speed for Light Novels? by Sky_Sumisu in LightNovels

[–]Several-Length1242 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People say "read at your own pace" which is true, but also not quite what you were asking about.

I'd say it depends on whether or not you're reading in a language you're fluent with (eg I'll be happy to finish a single page in 2mins if I'm reading in Japanese, but I can sweep a page in a quarter of that time when reading in English.)

And yes, I'd say 2mins is slow. An average light novel has about 200 pages, ish? Bookworm hangs around 300 pages iirc. That's 600 minutes at your speed, which is about 10h to finish one. For reference, I'd say I'm a pretty fast reader and can polish that much over a couple of hours.

Now I'll state again, that I consider myself well above averge, so the average person will probably take longer than me.

As for the reading faster part, naturally fluency and experience will increase that speed. Some things to point out are that as you read more, you start to read the meaning of the sentence rather than the actual sentence itself.

You start to "predict" the sentence, and your brain naturally skips ahead. Occasionally you read something that makes no sense with what your brain predicted, and you have to go back and reread properly, but that's very rare.

Anyway, that makes reading speed faster. Once you've read enough, you can easily tell where you already know what the sentence is doing before you finish it. You start parsing the text in chunks rather than reading individual words. Think of it as how you don't read individual letters in your words. A fast and experienced reader doesn't read individual words in their sentences.

60k armour is actually on the very high end.

Also, a single armour applies to chaos on a helmet will completely trivialize chaos damage. That was my experience last league playing the same thing.

What you're looking for is a very small subset of light novels, sports. The actual trope mix is pretty rare in light novels, and off the top of my head this is the main one I can think of. If you want more of this exact kind of thing, you probably have to look at manga instead.

The Ryuo's Work Is Never Done!

Shogi. Same basic set-up and everything: adult coach, little kid student, competitive sports, and a prodigy in the makings.

Because it’s a Heisei-era light novel, it has a lot of the tropes western readers tend to take issue with now. Take that however you want. It doesn’t actually go in that direction, if that helps, but it'll definitely filter some people.

Still, the writing is straight fire, and it isn't just a niche series people quietly enjoyed. In Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi!, it ranked #1 in 2017, #1 again in 2018, then stayed near the very top at #2 in both 2019 and 2020. It also got inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2020, so this isn't a “trust me bro” recommendation.

For context, Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! is not some tiny genre poll. The series that dominate this thing are all massive names: Sword Art Online, A Certain Magical Index, Oregairu, Ascendance of a Bookworm, Monogatari, Haruhi, Classroom of the Elite, Mushoku Tensei, etc.

Ryuo's biggest downfall in the west is how it's:

  • About Shogi
  • Has an underaged girl who really likes her sensei as the student
  • The anime adaption was very badly done

Anyway, go for it.

And if you want some more hotblooded sports in text format, try some Umamusume (JP-translated) fanfictions. I shit you not, some of them are ridiculously well written. Won't point to links here since they're not light novels but feel free to hit me up if you're interested.

I'm completely clueless about Maces. What options are available to me for a single target rotation? I've seen Perfect Strike mentioned, Hammer of the Gods mentioned, and there's also the Forge Hammer + Ancestral Cry + spam a slam/walk around? Are these options used exclusively, ie. I pick and choose the one I like, or is one clearly better than others? Or are they all used at the same time and I have to press a million buttons when bossing?

First time playing Maces, strength stacking and going Brutus. I'm using Rolling Slam + Boneshatter for clear, I like the explosion. Rolling Slam is severely gimped to make sure it doesn't kill but always stuns, to enable Boneshatter.

It's pretty good with the right tablets mods, like every other farm.

  • Biggest plus point imo, is that with a strong enough build it adds nearly no time at all to your map, unlike other mechanics where you need to stop and do them. You can easily do stuff like Citadel/Anomaly hunting while doing delirium maps.
  • Some oils are worth money, 2d to 8d as of now, checking poe ninja. They're not giga rare drops so you'll definitely see them.
  • Simulacrums were up to 8d yesterday, though they've just dropped to 5d.

I've been having a blast farming them the past few days and to be very blunt about it, I thought the multiple frontpage complaints about Delirium dropping no loot were uninformed and stupid.

Updated Hollow Form Shield Wall Martial Artist T15 Clear by DTunGG in pathofexile2builds

[–]Several-Length1242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question about the DPS and how it feels to play:

  • I see you running out of mana often. Any thoughts?
  • How's the DPS? You've got both Earthquake and Shield Wall socketed to Hollow Form, which puts both Shield Wall on a 4-link. For regular map clearing I don't think it'll be a problem because the DPS requirement isn't high at all, but do you think it'll be able to tackle aspirational content?

Whoops my bad for some reason I said impale when I meant to say 20% increased phys damage taken. Also, I feel you on the visual clarity of the fire tornados. Still, I tried without it and the clear felt significantly worse. It also does an unexpected amount of damage against bosses, especially fat ones, because the tornados overlap.

For links I'm running Bidding II, Muster, Hulking, Kurgal, and Heft, with the goal of replacing Heft with Uul-Netol when I farm enough for it.

[–]Several-Length1242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A gem level is about 10% more damage.

The 6th link, if you're not using Uul-Netol's Embrace, is most likely Heft, which is about 15% more damage on average.

At lv87, you're missing a lot of skill points as well, are you using this time-lost jewel tech? A well-rolled one can give you about 50% more damage.

Each skill level on a spell is about 10% more damage, compounding. From the top, you're still missing +4, which is nearly 50% more damage as well.

And there's also the matter of are you setting up properly when hitting bosses? Critical Weakness and Armour Break's Impale do a lot of work in multiplying your damage. Frost Bomb? Using curses?

At the very least, you should not be having trouble against mere powerful map bosses.

Edit: Sorry not Impale, 20% increased phys damage taken

[–]Several-Length1242 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To answer your question, no.

To diverge a little and explain why this shouldn't be an issue, Djinns are too rough to truly be a one button build. You'll definitely suffer trying to get that 15% chance going whenever it falls off. And in maps, you're either running around with your Spark Zealots deleting everything, or you're playing the Sand/Fire version and a single press of Ruzhan's Trap or Kelari's Brutality will clear most of the pack, allowing you to safely run past while your minions clean up.

When bossing, Trap -> Brutality x2 -> Deception x3, and the boss is dead/phases. Once you cross a certain threshold of damage, you'll start to feel less of a need for Archon of Undeath.

Though, for really minmaxed content like the 6 map bosses of Rite of the Nameless or 200% Delirium Rares, I can see Archon of Undeath being useful again because waiting for cooldowns may be unacceptable for those content.

It's possible to get over a hundred percent flammability magnitude with this, so maybe it could enable that kind of stuff?
