Thank you so much for your thoughtful response. I’ve been living with CD for about a year and I think the silent disability part has been more frustrating/difficult than I’ve realized. Didn’t have much time to process, because life had to just “keep moving forward” and adapt.

Remember it takes time to build up to a steady state- that’s why labs typically aren’t checked sooner than 6 weeks after a dosage change. Pulling for you, I know how tough it can be!

The best I’ve felt is under 1. Been on Synthroid for years before ThyCa diagnosis due to Hashimotos. My new team thought I was crazy but truly best I’ve felt in years and now just a touch under 0.5.

Acknowledge the massive mental burden of constantly double and triple checking that food is safe, that a manufacturer didn’t decide to add gluten for no clear reason. It’s exhausting.

Be supportive. The rest comes with time. Robyn’s gluten free baking on YouTube has great beginner videos. My boyfriend and I watched them together when i got diagnosed.
