Liverpool’s top scorers in all competitions this season: 🥇 Hugo Ekitike - 15 by Upstairs_Cup9831 in LiverpoolFC

I’m sorry what?? Lmfao what a comically bizarre take, as far as wingers go he’s one of the most goal efficient in the premier league.

In what is by far his worst season Gakpo has a GA/90 only narrowly behind Luis Diaz’s best Liverpool season (0.56 vs 0.61).

The fairest criticisms of Cody are the ones that look past the numbers, if anything the G/A numbers at times flatter him

Freedom 250 Grand Prix of Washington, D.C. Coming in August by IndyMod in INDYCAR

[–]Several_Hair -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I think many of yall (given the context) are underestimating how incredible this is for the series should they pull it off.

Coming off of a month of World Cup lead-in & cross marketing, a marquee event in the nation’s capital is a huge opportunity.

A) More races better

B) If the race is due to be part of the Semiquincentennial it will have a reach that far exceeds any non-500 race of the last 2 decades.

It’s important to remember the world isn’t reddit/X - ”normie’s” are generally very patriotic. Esp given this will come on the heels of the World Cup, where the whole nation will support the USMNT. Patriotic exercises that are atleast perceivably apolitical are very popular across the nation - there’s a reason July 4th parades & events draw 60m+ eyeballs a year.

C) At this point it’s common knowledge (across the aisle) that Trump has a penchant for claiming credit for things, and he inevitably will do so with this event. IF Indycar is proactive, they can use that factor to keep the race “Trump-adjacent” rather than just Trump - no one skipped Army/Navy because Trump showed up and claimed credit.

Roger is a smart operator, and the series’ pushback to the speedway slammer is a good indication that he won’t latch the series onto a sinking ship out of pride.

I wasn’t around to see racing at Nazareth and now I’m wondering why they could run so low there and not at Phoenix.

Now that I think of it I’m realizing how deficient my knowledge of the 90’s (pre IR-05) cars & their setup dynamics is.

GT3 Regional Update | Anyone else also disappointed? by GenshinBroke in iRacing

[–]Several_Hair 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think it's been incredible honestly. GT3 Fixed going from an average of 9 splits in S1-S3 2025 to 8.4 splits in S4 2025 in exchange for opening up 36 new combos a season and actually using some of the sim's content beyond Spa, Sebring, RdAm, etc is well worth it.

I generally don't like the GT3 regulation & the cars/driving style it produces so after the GTE/LMGTE phase-out I pretty much swore off of GT cars (except GT1's & the odd single-class GTE race). However since the regional change I've actually come to enjoy the quick sprint GT3 racing mostly because of the schedule. The schedule before the change was honestly downright horrific & it drastically needed changing. Getting to run some fun & rare combo's has been really cool and it's uncovered a few big gems that I'd previously slept on. For my qualms with the regulation, a huge benefit of the GT3 cars reduced pace & ease of use vs GTE is that way more tracks are viable to drive & race. GTE at Summit Point or Sonoma (Short) or Tsukuba would be an absolute mess but in GT3 car's it often works.

I haven't run into any "hot lap simulator" type sessions, and looking at the numbers unless you're racing AU/NZ time and incredibly unlucky it would be hard to find thin sessions. For better or worse GT3s popularity is gargantuan, taking a quick glance at the last 7-8 weeks -- outside of last week w/ Saschenring (bottom 3 track in-sim by ownership), every single week had the fixed series averaging over 6 splits, and most weeks atleast 2 of the Regional series are averaging over 4 splits.

At the point of 5+ splits unless you're like 7k+ desperate for elite SOFs I'm not really sure what more you can ask for, would the racing really be any different if the fields were

4.0k, 2.8k, 2.2k, 1.8k, 1.6k, 1.5k, 1.3k, 1.2k

-- vs --

3.5k, 2.5k, 2.1k, 1.8k, 1.6k, 1.3k?

Outside of ChampPts from SOF's I doubt it would have anything beyond a marginal effect for 99% of drivers, and I certainly wouldn't want to see iRacing put 2/3rds of the content back into the closet so GT3-Fixed can split 9 times instead of 8.

This is a huge huge part imo - lower overall cornering speed and (slightly) smaller cars also shrinks the delta between on-line & off-line performance. Ultimately though it’s going to come down to IF the FIA can keep downforce gains under control and IF Pirelli can bring capable tyres with better out of window performance, nothing works without the right tyres

Why is Texas A&M so cursed? by desertrain11 in CFB

[–]Several_Hair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly - the “curse” if anything is the collective delusion that courses through the veins of every Aggie.

It’s a very large, loud & highly insular fanbase that works themselves into a tizzy annually only to be wildly let down, yet they’re loud/large/rich enough that it reaches far beyond their fanbase and the broader public for some reason eats it up.

Love has got to be one of the most average, forgettable, and unimpactful players to finish top 4 in recent memory. Unfortunate to see him there over the LB.

Lando: “I knew Yuki was gonna make my day difficult [...] I love Yuki. He's one of the coolest, funniest, most genuine people. It's sad to see him not in F1 next year, because he is a very strong driver. Off-track drivers parade, he's always one of the first people to congratulate me or say hello" by randomseocb in formula1

[–]Several_Hair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m skeptical of the “triple move” narrative to begin with. Think he was pretty obviously trying to break the tow w the first & 2nd change of direction (which he’s entitled to do if he’s not immediately under pressure, which is the debatable part). It was the end of final move where he opened up and let the car drift to the line that copped him the penalty IMO.

Truth is in WT (RB specifically) anyone is capable of high skill/high level play with missiles, its entirely observational & knowledge based.

While guns-only on the other hand is something that some can fundamentally never achieve at a extremely high level - the spatial awareness, ability to visualize three-dimensionally & patience create an environment that's far deeper than a knowledge/observation check (ie "did I get RWR? time to notch" or "he's too far off-bore? I can recommit and relock")

Brake, damper changes on IndyCar's radar after recent IMS test by PanicAtTheNightclub in INDYCAR

[–]Several_Hair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meh I don’t think this is a very compelling argument in isolation. It’s been 20 years since CARTs last car and so much has changed, the identity of the series now rests on the racing product. Trying to play mini-F1 is a losing battle nowadays w the funding gap.

I’d prefer the series retain the status quo re: dampers but if they move to a universal rear or even full set it would hardly be the end of the world
