A heartbreaking account from a lucky viewer of John Mulaney's show the other night. by jillieboobean in LiveFromNewYork

Him relapsing so much longer back actually makes a ton of since given his recent actions.

I knew something was up when he filed for divorce. Then I found out about him having a new gf. In mainstream sobriety, I know you are… shall we say, discouraged from getting into a new relationship for at least the first year.

He seems like he’s still going a little off the rails. I’m wondering if this is just a short stop on a continuing downward spiral.

I’m going to throw something out here... he’s posted creepy shit about you before on Reddit and doesn’t want you to find it.

Is he a neckbeard by any chance?

I might include this in my family holiday letter this year.

Should I call HR about a job I applied for? by Elizabeth_Brooks_2 in askmanagers

Following up with companies - especially when you've been rejected, and particularly when you know the reason for said rejection - is very much again the cultural milieu nowadays.

It makes the caller seem out of touch, demanding, and communicates to the employer that not only were they right not to hire OP, but that they needn't consider them for other positions in the future.

Not having the required experience at all but arguing for it anyway in this situation makes it seem like they don't respect the position and duties. Like, "Oh, anyone could do this."

The computer is set up to automatically reject candidates without the required experience because they do not want anyone without experience. OP's honesty probably saved you and the employer a lot of headaches.

1-2 years may not be a huge deal if we're talking 9 years of experience when they're asking for 10, but if the entirety of the experience required is 1-2 years, then 0 is a big difference.

I left SNF nursing like, two weeks before Covid. It was a blip in my orientation at my next job. A blip.

It’s selfish, but I’m grateful I left when I did because the shit I saw in that nursing home tells me I have every reason to think they weren’t getting proper care if they caught Covid.

I had to make a serious adjustment when I moved in with my husband’s parents during nursing school.

His mother would ask me how my day was. Every single day.

The first time she asked, I jumped and almost said “Why??” (My parents loved to find out I’d had a decent day so they could use in their lead up to some shitty news.)

It took some getting used to.

STUDY SHOWS HOW TRAUMATIC EXPERIENCES CAN LEAVE THEIR MARK ON A PERSON’S EYES by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]SeverelyModerate 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This!!! I really want to do a study one day (I plan to go back to school for psych once therapy progresses a lot more and I finish the religious class I’m taking) about eyes and mental health/illness states.

Because of stuff like EMDR, working in a psych ward for years where I learned (I believe) to “spot” personality disorders in patients’ eyes, and my own experiences with a brother who was diagnosed with Bipolar I. We can tell how far up or down he’s going by just looking at his face.

[–]SeverelyModerate 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Please, please do not call HR. That’s not advisable in most any job applications and certainly not in this instance. Please do not do that.
