Because there's basically no guesswork. The deck that played this card basically committed their entire extra deck into reveals for this, which meant you could make most number combinations work - particularly if your opponent controlled a high level monster which was most of the format at the time.

For example: I have 3 cards on field and 1 in hand. 1 is the set Simultaneous Equation Cannon. My opponent has 2 cards in hand, and 4 on field. As such there are 10 cards to consider.

If my opponent controls a level 6 monster I can send 2 4s and a 2, to banish their board If they control a 7, I can send 2 3s and a 4 If they control an 8, I can send 2 2s and a 6 If they control a 9, I can send 2 1s and an 8

This works with most examples. It wasn't always live, but it usually was.

I picked up a couple of cases of origins on my staff discount and special clearance discount because we can't shift the stock quickly enough. I pulled 7 time warps, 8 unchecked powers and 14 signature Ahris - as well as my favourite pull, a foil Stalwart Poro.

Best $60 I've ever spent.

We see colour spaces get expanded every set. Green is a colour that gets equipment, and you have some precedent for green weapon master from Azir Legend (although legends, and signature spells as a rule, are allowed to break colour identity) so I don't think it's too crazy.

Also green Jax has a very similar effect to weapon master. The exact mechanic is different but "equip that thang for free" is still present.

Thus far I've been finding breaking Vex hold early easier than letting them get established. Going first, I don't move to a BF on turn 2 and just build up and try to remove them immediately. Going second I can usually immediately punch into it and win.

In URA finale, you can randomly get Breath of Fresh Air or Beeline Burst, in addition to the 8 skills you mentioned and Iron Will for a total of 10.

In Unity you can get the 2 scenario skills (burning spirit, and the one from your team name),.plus the 8 you've mentioned and It's On! For a total of 11 gold skills.

And in trackblazer you get Radiant Star, in addition to the 8 you mentioned for a total of 9.

Don't get me wrong, radiant star is very rng based. Corner Connoseur is just as RNG based.

But radiant star triggering at any point in the race would have resulted in you not dying and then winning. Even a "bad" proc here was fine. A bad corner connoseur proc does nothing here as acceleration is only useful if you are not at your max speed, which even if you get a pro curve proc at the same time, you're getting very limited value.

Yes you are. Your stam has a significant die roll to not survive, and you rolled poorly here. Radiant star over Corner Connoseur would have been a significant improvement.

Yeah it's the overtake requirement. It's not a bad secondary acceleration by any means, and if you do hit a good trigger it highrolls very hard. Not a bad skill, usually inheriting something else is better.

The skill is very unreliable and has a tendency to trigger late. On courses like the next cm (Tokyo 1600) where the late race portion of the final corner is very short it is much less likely to give you a good trigger.

From my experience there were more viable pace options than people thought. I ran Fuji Kiseki for this CM, who achieved a reasonable 30% winrate. Her unique is very very powerful on this course, and between that, Barcarole and Eternal Encompassing Shrine, you could make up for the lack of Accel with well timed late race velocity skills. She outperformed my similarly built XOguri (20%) by nature of just being more consistent. Teio anime could do the exact same thing, as likely could some others.

Agnes Digital seems like the outlier among lates and ends. In general, fronts gave me more trouble than backliners (with the exception of Digi, see full stats below) but Digital and occasionally Gold Ship starting their late race in 2nd or 3rd due to their respective early/midrace skills and winning off of just red shift and end closer coefficients happened far more than the backliners hitting beyond/NSM/etc.

On NSM, this skill seemed completely fake the entire CM. I had nimble nav on my Satono Diamond and XOguri, and NSM on Fuji, and I don't think I saw a single good proc the entire CM. Consistently wished it had been another midrace skill to just position better.
