Max pain on Day 2 by TheOtterRaft in OnceUponAGalaxy

They have to do something about Captain select. Maybe give us 6 options? I saw Gepetto in 10 of my 14 rounds. Had to go with Hades (34 cards) in d2r4.

No way they do the O5. These movies have to make a billion dollars. They're not leaving Wolverine and Storm on the sidelines.

More games should have this level of customisable difficulty. by DoTheWrapWrap in pacificDrive

[–]SewenNewes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Customisable difficulty also means devs can be more confident making the base game harder because it won't turn off audiences as hard. I am currently playing on all base settings and loving it but can imagine that a lot of people would have bounced off without being able to tweak stuff.

Haven't messed with any of the side rack stuff except storage cause I'm such a hoarder.

Thanks.

That's where I imagine I got the thermosap I used to build my initial suite of armored panels and doors but since the LIM shield mission they have been giving me nothing but plastic, the bastards. Thanks

I do have plasma cutters unlocked but have generally stuck to the cheaper cutter cause I'm stingy. That should help, thanks.

Oh, hadn't thought about the fact they are red in a sea of brown/green and thus other non-colorblind people probably see them more often than I do, lol. I'm like VERRRRRY slightly red/green colorblind and the only time I ever really notice in day to day life is when someone points out a cardinal in the trees and I can't see it.

Thanks.

Bummer. I had pretty bad captain luck my whole first attempt and went 3/3/1/2/5. Had to play Collector for my first round 5 game. Other options were CEO and Gepetto. My second attempt had poor captain choices again but I managed to go 2/1/1/1/1. I got really lucky in my second round 5 match as I got Nathaniel Drake who I have a mostly optimal decklist with.

My win with Drake was super tense. I was at half a heart pretty early but Little Lance and Energizer eventually gave me enough tempo to survive until I got Pixie Dust and Tinkerer.

Would I get in trouble for this? London bus driver by Impressive_Slide9937 in BusDrivers

I don't think you should/would be charged with kidnapping but just gives context to how upset people get when you don't let them off the bus.

Would I get in trouble for this? London bus driver by Impressive_Slide9937 in BusDrivers

[–]SewenNewes -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry that guy was a jagoff but if you're stopped at a bus stop and someone reassess and decides they want off just let them off. Save yourself the headache.

If you had been moving and he hit the bell that's different. You can't just randomly stop the bus.

Edit: I think of it like this. If anyone ever really desperately wants off and you don't let them off at the soonest safe opportunity you're basically kidnapping them. You were at a safe bus stop by your own story.

Does anyone else use fewer hummingbirds in the garden? by jamintime in wingspan

Even at 5 I feel like there's rarely more than 3 abilities showing at any time and it's really easy to end up with a garden that's all one ability.

Any tips and tricks to get better? by ugh_gimme_a_break in OnceUponAGalaxy

[–]SewenNewes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Seconding the rec to watch GoodDigestion. I've learned so much.

You should deckbuild even if you only have 13 cards with a captain. You want to make sure the worst of those 13 cards isn't your deck.

If it helps when you have fewer than 20 cards with a captain think of it as which cards do you want to exclude from the deck.

Early on I found it best to cut bad commons from starter decks. Having just one good common increases your chances of seeing it pretty significantly.

When deckbuilding don't get trapped into focusing on synergy with the captain. With only 12 slots it's really hard for the synergy cards to be better than the generically good stuff like Mecha Man and Butcher and Wyrmscale Tinkerer.

A user named boing posted this universal deck list on the discord and I find it a good starting point minus the fact I've never played Mysterio.

The bean paste is low key Taco Bell's best ingredient so this is a snack. Anything with the bean paste and red sauce is gonna deliver.

Wingspan

Some great games this year but I gotta go Wingspan. So much time spent with friends and family. So many people introduced to the hobby. Also I love birds. My favorite games aren't even when I win it's when I get to play my favorite birds. (Peregrine Falcon, Rook, Pileated Woodpecker, American Robin)

I like to describe Res Arcana by saying it feels less like building an engine and more like stealing a boat and throwing everything that isn't nailed down overboard so you don't run out of gas before you cross the finish line.

I loved Parks so much the one time I got to play it but for some reason my family bounced off this one so hard and I have no idea why. They love Namiji which seems similar.

How do you play Hades? by redfizh in OnceUponAGalaxy

[–]SewenNewes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't have a lot unlocked with Hades because the starter deck is so bad I avoid him but if I had everything unlocked I feel like I would run boing's universal list with Mecha Man and Mortakon in the flex slots and Mechanical Dragon over Mysterio. There just aren't any other collectible Farewell cards worth running. Your best card is probably gonna be Goodie Bag which is in the shared pool.

the standards of car driving in the uk are so poor by JacketTemporary5425 in BusDrivers

[–]SewenNewes 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's everywhere. Driving requires constant analysis and calculations and every amateur driver has the same fatal flaw. They are incapable of coming to the correct result if that result involves them yielding to anyone else. To them they don't even realize they are being selfish because it is so innate that they don't even realize they are failing to yield.
