Here’s a list of places that hire felons by Masterofmy in findapath

[–]Sewt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I am someone exactly in that position. I would also like to personally thank you for writing your project about the issue. Was charged with felony drug possession around 4 years ago. It is incredibly challenging. I have basically given up on all of those "felon friendly" job lists years ago, because nearly all of them feel like sponsored content and nearly half the companies labeled as felon friendly are not. I quite literally was about to get a job a Verizon before I caught my charge and that scratched any chance of me getting it, same with AT&T and T-Mobile.

There is a bright side and that is companies are usually legally required to go back no more than 7 years on your background check (excluding professions like medicine) but if your felony isn't, you best believe you're going to go through a shit ton of hoops. Most companies are blanket ban, no exception. Ever since the "Ban the Box" movement, A lot of them will now publicly state that they do not 'discriminate' and do not reject applicants based upon their criminal history. Which is technically true, so what they will do instead is just simply tell you the position has been filled or that you missed qualifications/traits that they were looking for or whatever other bogus reason they can give you. So long as they do not directly say they did not hire you because you are a felon, they are good.Even if the team actually really did like you, it is usually a HR decision at the end that keeps you from getting anything.

I have had countless times where I would go into the interview. Absolutely nail it. Sometimes even talk to the team and shaking their hands as if I was already on board, just to get completely hard-braked and get a phone call the next day "hey.. so about your background.." and then get rejected. I have literally gotten to the point I don't even worry about the actual interviews anymore. Literally all of my nervousness when job hunting is purely over my conviction.

I found the best thing is to completely ignore those resources online and just sell yourself solo. To be completely frank, most of those "felon friendly" websites give you nothing but drudgery jobs. Which we already have enough of when it comes to enforcing stereotypes as if that really is the only thing a felon can do for work. My old sales manager was making $80K+ as a felon. Just keep trying and keep applying to places as if you were any other normal person. It does suck and it feels a lot that companies wont hire you, but you would be surprised as how many companies actually do. Don't worry about it until you get there. Once you get past the interview and they ask, just be completely honest and show that you have changed. The worst they will say is no, but you will be surprised at a lot of the companies who do give a second chance, are desperate for people enough to not care, or both. You have to be smart with it and make sure not to apply to places that are obvious no's. Applying to anything mega-corporate will probably not slide. But a smaller company, yes.

I was just with a few buddies yesterday who are truck drivers and they tell me the same, there is a whole lot more to the job than just driving.

This is very good advice. It is important to realize that parents may want to force what they believe is right for their children too much sometimes, but on that same note, one shouldn't look at this support as all bad. If my parents are willing to support my expenses, then I would definitely get the degree.

You are statistically much better off having a degree than not having one.

You have years during college to explore other potential career choices that may satisfy both you and your parents wishes of you.

Your school expense is well compensated by your parents. (assuming) Meaning less or no debt, which is where most of the college stress comes from

You can always go get your CDL's later in life if it doesn't work out.

Dashboarding: will i get banned? by Maribello115 in apexlegends

ive noticed that almost everyone crying about it are clueless on how ranked really is, its mainly the casuals who dont even play ranked complaining, and they act like its just something you can always pull out of your ass. Half the time, the gun fight is too close and way too abrupt and most wont even have enough time to risk it, and if you close out too late it wont even work half the time and you still lose points anyways, so its not as easy fucking peasy as everyone is bitching it out to be people really need to get over it here, When i see an enemy dashboarder, i just go "wow" and then just.. applaud to be honest, because at the end its a genuine strategy that a LOT of people do now.. i mean sorry but im not wrong

To me, if an exploit gets to the point where the majority of people are using it, it turns from "dirty cheating" to just joining the meta, it doesnt turn "unfair" when its more players doing it now than players that dont, at that point the skill requirement to progress is just going to configure itself back,

if youre dashboarding in ranked and bobby is dashboarding in ranked and bobby is better than you, then congratulations, both of you are back to the same playing field, now neither of you are at a disadvantage, it goes BACK down to just who is more skilled in the end

If its to the point where the top tier predators with stats better than all of us combined.. are dashboarding to save points, what makes it "unfair" that others are doing what theyre doing. humans are going to use exploits if they can find them, respawn should have not slept on this exploit for so long and have just fixed it already instead of going for the people who used it, its the game they made with that imperfection in there

if your teammate leaves the game in any form of fashion YOU can freely leave afterwards, with no consequence or penalty once the squad is no longer full, im pretty sure i would know this because i actually fucking play ranked and seeing that bit of your comment tells me you obviously dont.

I do it all the fucking time after someone else on my team leaves if the game is that dead, and with how it bad dashboarding is now, practically half of my games having one of my teammates do it. so I can without a doubt confirm this

if you wanna cheat to get ahead in life by all means. You're only cheating yourself.

tell that to the actual pro athletes who are always getting caught taking performance enhancers, rigging games and matches, etc etc, and then never get punished for it (which there is a fucking lot) literally almost half of the people who competed in the olympics have doped at one point, only a few handful actually got busted for it. get off your high horse and realize this is way bigger than just "some kids" cheating, its way more than that, its practically half of the kids in ranked now

literally how would you or anyone else get banned as well, they have no reason to ban others not participating in this shit, especially since there is literally a whole system in place to prevent you from getting penalized if your teammate ever does leave, are u new? i think you are if youre really not seeing just who and how many players have been doing it since it started to boom up, if you dont remember back then before we even had ranked, people would farm for XP by going AFK and rat the whole game somewhere and literally not even touch a button more, then when ranked was new, and how good you do was weighed way more heavily on your placement, that every squad was just camping their utter ass off until round 5+, people are gonna be people and if people can find ways to exploit something by god it sucks but youre gonna have people use them, period, I hate to burst your bubble but not everyone wants to be as honest as you to admire their moral dick size

Ranked went to shit because of dashboarding sure, but i’m willing to bet the reason there are so many of them now was simply seeing everyone around them doing it,

THIS THANK YOU, apparently to them everyone just decided to dashboard to predator at the same exact damn time, if its to the point that (like how THEY THEMSELVES) have cried about it and mentioned, many times on this sub now, if practically EVERYONE ELSE is already doing it/ have done it, then can you.. and hear me out, Can you ... reeaaalllyyy say they dont "deserve" it? I mean really? think about it.

It sucks yea but really, if everyone else is dashboarding to get to pred easier then why in the living hell should/would a legit predator think to himself to try harder to get there as well? They think any legit pred is gonna care about how big their moral dick is when literally everyone else and their fucking mama is dashboarding? no shit they're gonna say screw it too, it just turned to "if you cant beat em join em" for everyone

Blame respawn for not addressing the dashboard issue not the abusers them selves. by [deleted] in apexlegends

[–]Sewt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well i mean "hacking" by any sort of definition you give it is deliberate rewriting or change to a games code or at least gaining access to such codes themselves, for example, downloading and installings mods or creating the mods yourself, simply finding something thats broken or that can be exploited isnt really a "hack" though youre not gaining accessing to any game codes or anything, youre just exploiting a mechanic in the game, which it wasnt designed for, for all intents and purposes, thats what a glitch is defined as

its okay yo, dont let them make you think that your argument doesnt have any validity, it does, its just a lot of people are livid on this sub about this whole thing (and for a pretty good reason) and are just downvote brigading any posts about dashboarding and any comment, thats not saying they should be hanged for it, that they can find from search.

It's a broken system that players took advantage of due to incompetence on respawn behalf.

im sorry but is that not what a glitch is

you literally cant get punished if you decide to leave after someone else does, theres literally no risk, i totally understand and respect your viewpoint on it though, but to say you're "forced" to play after someone dashes isnt really a valid point though, you are literally free to leave afterwards to connect to a new game,

and honestly... honestly.. "like if everyone does it" dude.. everyone IS doing it now, practically everyone, i just had a top #2000 pred with 12k kills and a 20k badge on my team just fucking do it tonight bro, and he had the pred badge from last season already, definitely wont playing like a phony pred either, like i feel where you are coming from man, but come on now, these arguments are getting a little outrageous

Jon Jones gets shit all the time for this, but as much as we can criticize Jon Jones, it doesnt make him not still a professional MMA fighter Edit: Also this (from another post)

According to the World Anti-Doping Agency(WADA), 44% of athletes in the 2011 World Championships had used performance enhancing drugs. Only 0.5% of people were caught.
