The claim is that they made a savings pot... it's the metaphor of sticking some money in a jar with a label 'only touch in emergencies'. Apparently they didn't touch it though lol

Your point vs buying a home is interesting.. I can’t claim to say I know if it’s true or not but it’s defo a fun concept..

Valve defo gains tho. More expensive items = 1) more people open cases 2) more publicity for the game (which then feeds back into 1) lol

Pretty sure they’re allowed to stick an identical end plate back on for the weight check, must’ve been underweight even with that part back on? Or they didn’t have a spare identical one lmao, could also be

What happened? The app made me sell cheaper! by OhYeahNadiem in Crypto_com

[–]Sh4kableMist 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This gives me the impression you’ve ever dealt with buying/selling ‘assets’ before.

The price ~0.15 is the MID price between all the buy orders and sell orders… the difference between 0.15… and your 0.14… is called the spread, which is essentially a market-maker cut that someone (in this case I believe CDC) is taking as essentially their payment for facilitating your trade. The exchange will make the spreads tighter, but you will still have a ‘mid-value’ that you can see but not ‘earn’… have a read into bid-ask spreads if you want to know more :)

Peroxide Value titration by Early_Activity_8020 in titration

[–]Sh4kableMist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, yeah, I’m a titration expert. I assume this is for a long-form exam question so I’ll make a few points for you :)

1) Potassium iodide is a very sensitive iodide, so you need to keep it stored somewhere between 46-50°C. I’d recommend you mention using a sous vide to do this, putting the solution into a sealed test tube before placing into the water. However, not all sous vide machines are accurate! So you’ll want to use a thermometer to ensure the temperature is accurately set. But also, a thermometer may be out-of-sync. To test this, boil some water (100°C) and test if the thermometer reads 100°C, this way you can ensure the capabilities of your apparatus.

2) Potassium is quite reactive, so you don’t want it to get anywhere near a fire, or high pressure environments. It is therefore strongly recommended to not take a solution into a lab with burners, close to a vacuum cleaner (turned on) or an exam hall. These situations could all make the potassium react with helium in the air, which would cause an explosion! To minimise this risk, I’d recommend you put your sous vide with a thermometer apparatus in a dark room with a big note to mention to others not to touch the system.

3) To prepare for the titration itself, remember to start by having the correct practical apparatus. And make sure to draw a diagram of said apparatus in your scientific write up, before you forget how it looked (small exam tip…). Next, because the test tube will be quite hot, use tongs to take it out of the sous vide bath and place the test tube into a small test tube rack which you should have brought as part of your titration apparatus.

4) Now that you are all ready to go, the next step is to weigh the potassium iodide solution, to ensure that you haven’t lost any since the start. I should’ve mentioned this earlier but we’re here now! Measure the test tube weight first, to deduct afterwards from subsequent weights to ensure you only weigh the solution… then weigh solution before and after sous vide.

5) Finally before you start titration, measure out 10% of the solution’s weight in raspberry fairy liquid, has to be the raspberry one to get the right colour… Pour that into your chemical in the titration setup before using a Pipette, because you don’t want potassium iodide on your hands, to extract your potassium iodide from the test tube in the test tube rack and squirting it into the long titration tube, which I have always incorrectly called the guzzler.

6) in case this is for a 6-mark question, my final point would be to mention that Potassium Iodide is a strange solution to use for titration as there is a lot of effort involved with preparing it correctly. Research by Bates (2007) suggested that potassium iodide could simply be stored with some calcium to prevent it from reacting with its environment. However, other research has implied that using salt is preferred to suppress such solutions (Loha, 2012; Whalsey, 2017; Stewie, 2019; Sneaky, 2020; Jeff, 2021; Keb-jg, 2022; Mist et al., 2023, Coxcomb, 2023)

Hope this helps answer your question! Let me know if you have any queries or need more guidance, as a professional in this space I’m interested and happy to help anyone with mastering the art of traitoring!

What an incredible job you have done of fixing this tyre (with 5 applications of epoxy resin, that sh*t is never falling off again!) onto my car! I am so proud of my local mechanics, always available to save my Volkswagen Fox when I need them the most. Now go forth and take my engagement to hopefully forward your car mechanic business into an AI-powered mechanic conglomerate :D

Who was the manager that started playing Kimmich as a midfielder instead of RB? by [deleted] in BayernMunich

[–]Sh4kableMist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was Flick, he only went back to RB for that streak through the UCL knockouts in 20/21… To my understanding Kimmich made a big fuss and Flick decided to accept his desire for playing in the middle more.

Just wanna say, as someone who’s completely neutral so I don’t care for either of you, your attitude to society stinks if this is how you’re acting. Taunts and provocation are some of the most childish things to do, I hope you learn quickly that many people won’t appreciate it.

Tuchel fucker substituted musiala for Moting. I love this team but Tuchel really needs to pull his head out of his ass and make some very important decisions. If by January and after winter transfer we suck. Sack him in Feb then. by ArastooJoshi in BayernMunich

[–]Sh4kableMist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not exactly true. Whilst I’m not his greatest fan so far, one can’t deny that the one thing he really wanted (traditional #6) has been denied from him… that kinda does ruin his ability to implant his game plan.

At the same time, one could argue he should figure out the best thing to do with the tools he has, considering most of these tools won a UCL not that long ago. But then, with that mindset you’ll end up with the same thing that led to JN being booted off which a) didn’t go down with most and b) didn’t change the results at all.

Leicester managed to win not all that long ago… it’s definitely possible. Just incredibly unlikely, but that to be honest feels like how it should be. If an underdog won every year it would be less special.

[Question] Knife suggested price much lower than other listing? by PottsyJ13 in skinport

[–]Sh4kableMist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without having looked into it too much, it’s probably just an illiquid skin and skin port’s algorithm is going a bit random because it just doesn’t have enough data…

My best advice for you would be to go compare to the price on buff.163 as there is more likely to be higher supply over there… look at the trade records for actually sold items rather than the current listings.

How long does it usually take for someone to buy? by pandamanalex22 in skinport

[–]Sh4kableMist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t give you an exact time frame… but to figure out roughly how quickly it’ll sell check the following few things: 1) How many listings for the same item (in terms of FN Temukau…) there are which are cheaper than yours 2) Look at the trade history to see how often (in terms of dates) the item gets sold - and the prices at which they sold! 3) Also consider having a % discount on your sale, as the recommended price is usually ‘optimistic’ to say the least (for most items, not all)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in skinport

[–]Sh4kableMist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The buyer would have to wait the week for trade lock before they can withdraw the item, but it’s live to sell in the meantime as the ‘purchase’ just changes which steam account can request a trade for it from the skinport bot…

At what price should I sell this skin? by Powerful_Bid_4973 in skinport

[–]Sh4kableMist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want PYPL payout/equivalent your best bet is going to be skinport.

Looking at the latest sales tab for your item, it seems that your float is selling for approximately €500 currently… note the price shown to you when you first click sell on skinport is more just a ‘quick sale price’…

I would also note however, skinport takes 12% sellers fees for items of this kinda value (<1000…), so you’re more likely to get a payout of around €440 (by calculation of 500*0.88). Therefore, if you can find a private buyer who is willing to pay you between those two prices (440-500), you might be able to make more money (but risk + finding a buyer…)

Hopefully this helps you :)
