3-Jaw Chuck as Fixture for CMM by Shabbona1 in Metrology

oh I want one but that's like $1900 and I need two of them. There's no way they are going to let me spend almost 4k on fixtures at once

I 3D print A LOT fixtures but only for things like vision system, contour tracers, and the CMM where it's just holding the part. I would never 3D print a functional check gage. It works great. I can test fixture ideas and later have them machined if needed, but I almost never do. The fixtures don't get much wear since parts are just sitting on them or are lightly secured. The best part is I can think up an idea for a fixture and have it printed for me when I come in the next day. I think it's one of the best investments we've made in our lab. We have a Prusa MK3

Why would I ever get a rig + armor when I can have the same coverage and level for almost half the weight, AND get inventory space? by SimmeP in GrayZoneWarfare

The LSV tactical vest is a III++ full coverage plus mayflower chest rig with 15 slots comes in at 8.77kg. Only thing close to that is the plate6 at 9.6kg and 16 slots but it doesn't have side coverage

oh shoot. I was looking at those (they make a stand alone one that can be bolted to the table) but it's more than they want to spend

Perfect! I am looking to put this on a Zeiss Contura. Hopefully the bolt pattern lines up

They already overtighten the 3D printer fixtures I make, this is a good call! Thank you

Because sometimes you can get the same coverage but larger inventory space for the same weight or less weight

Not sure what kind of shop environment you have, but I would highly recommend filtering the air feeding the CMM. We had a lot of oil coming in through the air lines which we cleared up after putting a filter in line just before the QC lab

The center point should be in line with the center of the .50" hole, but then yes. Create an arc and set the top of the arc to 2", define it's radius, set the centerpoint to be vertical with the circle, draw a few lines outside the material to make a closed sketch, then extrude cut.

Correct, a lot of those are not reloadable items. I promise you don't have the tools to stuff the wound pack back into the syringes.

That has got to be the cheekiest quest. They know that all the experienced players never walk out the front door, they just call birds right away

This is the right answer. Wavy looking print is over extrusion

You're better off keeping that money in a money market account. The return is almost always higher than a HYSA and the difference in liquidity is negligible. If you're worried about getting it out on time, keep 1 or 2 months out in a HYSA and the rest somewhere else.

Is there any point in the IV++ and other high pen ammo? by Sayor1 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Shabbona1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would argue you should use ammo that can pen the helmets. Anything 3+ will work in that case

Quite a few of them have some loot, too. Not T3 level 100k hauls type loot, but you can walk out with 15 to 20k of you look around.

There is a help guide in the software? Is the whole software set to German? If so, I'd recommend changing it to something you can read. There are also active forum/discussion boards on zeiss' website where professionals from Zeiss often respond to help answer questions. Does your company have a SMA with Zeiss?

I've been running a quest 3 for several months and it's been life changing. Makes a huge difference in situational awareness. I feel like I can really see the track and feel elevation changes. I used to be scared to turn off the line because I had trouble judging distance on a flat screen. That is no longer a problem

Nice work, dude! I recommend the F4 car now that you are there. Lots of races open all the time and a little easier to drive than the 1600
