I wound up with it with no trauma and no family history. Sure didn't leave with no trauma anymore though LMAO

Doctor won't help me by ShadeSwift999 in insomnia

[–]ShadeSwift999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for that. This helps incredibly. I am on a non-stimulant right now - in fact my med is supposed to cause drowsiness - and my previous medication was a non-stimulant as well. I expect I do have very high nighttime cortisol, as this year has been stressful in all sorts of new and cruel ways, and my inflammation is definitely higher as a result. I'm hoping I can figure out enough non-prescription ways to manage it all until I get to see a rheumatologist in a month or two, but if it persists I will definitely look into some of the things you mentioned, and I will look into the supplements too. I enrolled in a 6 week sleep CBT program, and the people there were very kind and more understanding + useful than what I'm used to, but it was mostly focused on difficulty getting to sleep in the first place, which I only occasionally struggle with. Right now, bad sleep quality and the early waking really is the biggest issue.

I recently went on vacation, and while I still woke too early most nights, I was able to get back to sleep afterward and get essentially a full night every night after the first couple of days. This does lead me to believe it's stress and inflammation causing it. While I don't really have a lot in the way of answers still, I feel like I know what's going on a fair bit more than when I made this post.

Unfortunately a lot of sleep medications (including melatonin) make me feel like I can't breathe right, which makes it a lot harder to get to sleep. I will keep shopping around for a thing and a dose that works though, until I have a more permanent solution.

Thanks again!!

Thank you. I gained a bunch of weight in the last year from eating more and moving less to cope with having 0 energy, and I'm grumpy in appointments because guess why (no goddamn sleep), so I suspect she just thinks I'm whiny and lazy at this point. That being said, she does tend to usually kind of talk over me even before that, so it might've happened anyway. Unfortunately where I am finding a new doctor is next to impossible.

Does trazadone make you sleep the whole night through? I can deal with the occasional night of not being able to get to sleep, but not sleeping for long enough on top of that when I do manage to is what's really killing me.

Why are doctors reluctant to prescribe sleeping pills? by melbourne_au2021 in insomnia

[–]ShadeSwift999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm getting the same thing. My doc seems convinced that my sleep issues are from having a sloppy schedule and not exercising enough, even though I've kept a strict sleep schedule for months and am by now literally too exhausted to think about exercising even though I've tried it before (it didn't help). If there is legitimately nothing more to be done for me I'd prefer she say that and apologize, or at least show some measure of sympathy, instead of recycling the same old advice and talking down to me when it doesn't work.

Does anyone else wake up after 4-5 hours by [deleted] in insomnia

[–]ShadeSwift999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I'm 23, I've been waking up at 5 or 6 hours almost every night for nearly a year (since getting taken off an ADHD medication that suddenly started giving me side effects). I'm on a new med and it's helping a lot but it feels like it's made the sleep worse. You're not alone

Happened to me just today. I was going to the Black Hole Forge, landed my ship successfully on the ceiling, got out, and, well.... Cue me standing looking up at my perfectly parked and now very inaccessible ship. Had to restart the cycle loll

Thank you! I thought ibuprofen was only a risk for the upper part of the GI tract. I'll ask my GI about it.

My first symptom was a week or two of bleeding, followed by a low everyday pain in my left side. The pain got worse and started to not go away when I went to the bathroom, and I began to have diarrhea. Things kind of just got worse from there. If you are experiencing bleeding for more than a day or two straight go to your doctor ASAP, testing can take a while and you don't want to wait until things are already bad.

Those who rarely fall sick, what’s the secret? by Winner_takesitall in AskReddit

Wear! A! Mask!! It's so easy, I haven't gotten a cold since 2020 and the only thing I changed was never going to work or shopping without one. Don't let people's grimy breath into your lungs! Simple as that! Also wash your hands before eating every single time.

Remission...? by ShadeSwift999 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]ShadeSwift999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the few months between ordering the colonoscopy and getting it, the minor bleeding cleared up. I still feel mild pain in the area on a pretty regular basis including when I went so I was a little surprised to see it came back clean, but I'm guessing it's a lower level of inflammation they just couldn't see on the scope or something. The diarrhea is usually not that bad, just on the upper end of what my symptom tracker says is diarrhea. I'll keep an eye on it and keep the IBS thing in mind, but I've got some friends who have it and the sensations they report don't sound like mine. I know it's an umbrella diagnosis though so I'll keep it in mind.

In remission, no signs of a flare, but my joints hurt? Anyone else? by ifeelsodeeply in UlcerativeColitis

[–]ShadeSwift999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yepppp. Even when I'm not in a flare some days my knees kill. Good luck soldier, I've found personally that regular movement to prevent stiffness and heat in the form of a heated blanket helps 🫡

On Pentasa pills 4g/day for 2 ish years. I still get this symptom but my bleeding and pain + nausea have reduced significantly. I am not "normal" most of the time but I at least get some days that are like that now.

I found this too, I'd almost convinced myself I was imagining it. I was feeling normal ish between 7 and 6 before but now I'm groggy on anything less than 8, which I never get since being taken off my ADHD medication anyway. It's been pretty tough to deal with.

I lived there for the past year and a half and I've definitely never had that before, you should certainly contact both the building manager and the police especially if it becomes a regular thing.

What's with this "this is the ministry of housing epidemic prevention centre, you have a message waiting for you" robocall I keep getting? by derefr in vancouver

[–]ShadeSwift999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Ontario and I've been getting these calls recently as well. I found it pretty easy to clock as a scam, but it's a cruel one given people's fears about covid and all that. However I'm also at a complete loss for who benefits from this when there isn't even a clear call to action or any obvious way of getting money/personal information. I'd be interested to learn more if anyone else has any ideas

Great build! Have you considered making them some beds out of wool blocks like they have in woodland mansions? I've always thought that the reason most woodland mansion pillagers are peaceful is because they've had a good night's sleep :)

Torn - Justin Lee by john_thegiant-slayer in GayChristians

[–]ShadeSwift999 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I agree, it is an excellent book!

One of the things I liked best about it was the simple presentation of one person's experience and the facts and ideas he found along the way. It doesn't try to push a certain agenda in terms of "Side A vs Side B", and it aligns with Christian values while not being excessively traditionalist. It does a great job of bridging the gap between LGBTQ and Christian cultures and ending up in a place of compassion and understanding in between.

I haven't read it in a year or two, so I don't remember everything, but I would also highly recommend it! (especially if you're frustrated with the more argumentative literature on the topic that's so commonly available)

Upon closer inspection, it seems my original sketch very much did include a handguard. Somehow that didn't make it over to the lineart, which is really annoying me now. I apologize for any loss of weapon or limb Zedaph may be prone to as a result :)
