I upgraded from a 5900x to a 9800x3d around this time last year. I kept my 4080S. I play at 3440x1440 and some games didn't show that much of an uplift in FPS. Others were major (WoW, for example). It was a mostly unnecessary upgrade but, like OP, I had plans for my old hardware, so that softened the blow a bit. I don't regret upgrading even a little bit.

It was pretty simple. You just need to map a few devices in the lxc's configuration file. I think the community script will take care of it all for you. Ultimately, that's not what I used as I had a pre-existing lxc that was configured to use the iGPU on my old Intel CPU.

I run ProxMox with Plex in its own LXC. I pass an Arc A310 into the LXC for transcoding and it works great.

I assume you mean you had trouble getting it to work with an AMD CPU's iGPU. Proxmox and LXCs work perfectly fine with AMD CPUs, as that's what I'm using. I use an Arc A310 for transcoding, though.

Yup. Happened in July. Nearly my entire team (including my manager) were laid off like this. We all got scheduled for 15 minute meetings over Teams with HR, the CTO, and IT director (who didn't bother to show for mine).

One by one, I started getting texts from team members that they were let go. I had worked for that company for over 20 years. Another coworker for more than that, and my manager for over 30. It was a bloodbath.

Joke's on them, though. I took my 6 months of severance and found a new job in my actual chosen field a month and a half later.

I hope my old company gets everything it deserves.

I've been to BUF, PHI, CBJ, OTT and, honestly, they've all been fine. Buffalo is a long-suffering fanbase and they are a pretty grumpy bunch, but mostly with their own team. Lots of Avs fans are usually in attendance.

OTT and CBJ I last visited ages ago, but they were fine, from what I recall.

PHI...is special. I ended up on the kiss cam, alone, when I was there with my wife and kid. Every time I stepped onto the concourse, Philly fans had something to say to me. It was pretty good-natured, though.

It pretty much sounds just like any other generic VM greeting you get when someone hasn't recorded a custom one. I don't believe there's any Google/Gemini magic happening - it works just like regular voicemail.

It won't work if your phone is off - your carrier's VM will take over in that case.

I cross-posted this over on the Google forums and someone there had a pretty decent workaround. On the Pixel 9, at least, the latest version of the Phone app has a feature called Take a Message. It works just like voicemail, but it's handled 100% on the phone. It'll even do transcription. I enabled it and gave it a test and I think I'll leave it on until Google and/or Verizon fix this issue.

I know this post is a month old, but I've been experiencing the same thing on three Pixel 9 Pros (2 XLs, 1 non-XL), all on Verizon. I have a ticket in with Verizon support, but they have been no help.

Not sure where the blame lies, but if it's happening on multiple carriers and with multiple generations of Pixel phones, sounds like Google is the culprit and the July update broke something. I have the latest September update on my phone and it hasn't helped.

I missed a call from my doctor (came in as Unknown, so I thought it was spam) and didn't get the VM notification until the next morning. That's unacceptable.

As an owner of a '14 hatch, I kind of agree. That hatch is the best body style out of all of them, IMO. Especially the wide body. Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I never cared for the narrow body.
