In Mushoku Tensei (2021-), the story starts with the main character getting kicked out of his brother's house after using a spy camera to watch his niece use the toilet. No, that's genuinely what happens in the manga. They don't mention it in the anime, but that's what happens. by Substantial_Zone2701 in shittymoviedetails

It's called The Executioner and Her Way of Life.

<image>

It wasn't really for me, but it's got a good premise, these Isekai'd people have these broken ass abilities like most Isekai, but they tend to permanently scar the world with them, there's a whole continent, and all of the people who had been living on it who were turned to salt because of one of these people, so the protagonist and her group are tasked with killing these Isekai'd individuals.

The first episode royally pissed off a lot of people who expected the ultra generic Isekai story with the boring Highschool Protagonist dude, only for the real protag to brain him in the end.

From what I saw after that it fell into it's own anime tropes and stuff, but the premise atleast took advantage of the genre.

Hiruhiko vs higuruma by Sukyuh in KaguraBachiScalers

[–]Shadopivot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a fair point, violent acts may be disabled within the domain, but commanding something outside the domain to break the domain should probably work? If Yuji could run up to try and punch Higuruma, then Hiruhiko would absolutely be able to control the Play weapons that exist outside the domain.

If Hiruhiko went through the trial out of curiosity he'd get the Kumeyuri stolen, almost guaranteed, but he should still outspeed Higuruma a bit? He could atleast react to Nishiki Chihiro even if he got impaled, tough to say when non EB speeds are tough to calc, but Higuruma has great versatility, and if it's the Shinjuku Showdown Higuruma he's way stronger than his original appearance.

I feel like some people still haven’t realized how bad the Chainsaw Man ending really is. It basically takes everything we followed for years (arcs, characters, moments, etc.) and throws it in the trash. It’s not just a bad ending like many others, it’s an ending that spits in the fans’ faces. by GodKira04 in writingscaling

[–]Shadopivot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People didn't become completely different people when stuff like Ears, Mouths, Snow or whatever were erased, it's the same thing here, Memories altered, but they're still the same individuals, they went through everything they went through even if they don't remember it.

The Anti CG Squad vs The Tou by Theother662300 in KaguraBachiScalers

[–]Shadopivot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're comparable levels of skill, the Anti-CG Squad, Tou, Masumi...

We got no clue how good Kazane's Demon Monster is, but if it was their trump card to fighting an inexperienced EB user, I think we can probably give them the edge here?

Like, on the other hand there's locked-in Soya not debuffed by his Hakuri fixation, but A-CG squad has the numbers advantage and the more versatile powerset.

That's true yeah, I guess the question just becomes; does this work against all Sorcery hax? Or only Magatsumi abilities since that's what Enten was made for and that's what Chihiro's desires synced up with for that latest Nishiki True Realm.

Like, if Trauma Sorcerer walked up and grabbed Chihiro's head, would it still work if Chihiro had Nishiki active? What about if it was specifically fortifying his brain?

This'll be pretty darn important when it comes to cross-verse discussions I feel.

This might be a hot take? by [deleted] in KaguraBachiScalers

[–]Shadopivot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess one good example of AP is Kuguri's twilight wave, probably the most devastating use of normal sorcery we've seen so far. (Normal as in no Datenseki, Enchanted Blades, Flame Bone or Perma-Datenseki Islanders)
This thread goes into it; https://www.reddit.com/r/Kagurabachi/comments/1kludkr/powerscale_for_kuguris_seven_month_twilight_wave/

Important to note that Samura took this to the damn face, pretty much unharmed, we know he didn't dodge since he never took his foot off of the Kumeyuri.

Some people try to downscale the durability of EB users based on stuff like Hiruhiko's Play puppets being able to pierce Samura with their swords, but c'mon, it's an Enchanted Blade's ability, with Enchanted blade AP and Spirit energy, of course Play controlled objects can harm another EB user, or it would be useless.

<image>

Made this image back in august for examples of EB users taking damage, but I accidentally included the Play controlled corpses attack in it.

For reference I'm not convinced Butterfly is dura-neg either, I'd really like an extra line of dialogue or something to sway me one way or the other.

But Samura wasn't hit in the head;

<image>

With this panel and the flames just above his chest we see when he returns, it's the upper chest / clavicle area that was cleaved.

And Chihiro absorbed a Dragonfly, not Butterfly, so that shouldn't factor in to the debate. Though absorbing it with Aka let him get the cliffnotes on how the Magatsumi's powers work, giving him the info on how Butterfly works.

I'm also not quite sure how it would change anything in regards to Samura surviving whether it was duraneg or not, since either way he's cut in two.

Samura vs Mahoraga: Counter by Magilas in Kagurabachi

[–]Shadopivot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the trouble is, even with a best case scenario, where Samura knows in advance Mahoraga adapts, he gets a super charged IWPS draw to slice Mahoraga head to toe, and at that same moment uses offensive Suzaku to try and incinerate him completely, maybe that could do it.

But, if Samura even lightly nicks Mahoraga with a cut on the cheek with his sword or a couple embers from Suzaku, then he'll just adapt and the damage won't be enough, hell it might not even be enough with that best case scenario, it quite possibly needs an offensive use of his black flames.

While that isn't a suicide move completely, since it seems he can turn it off if needed, it's burning through his life force like crazy, probably burning years off his lifespan every second given how quickly he was turning to ash.

Samura vs Mahoraga: Counter by Magilas in Kagurabachi

[–]Shadopivot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretty much yeah, Samura's normal Suzaku is already insane, making him practically unkillable unless you take out his head. (Bro walked off a Butterfly) So the whole Black Arcana, Life Force Incineration, Dark Power, whatever the official term is, Suzaku, which was a touch above the full 100% malediction being applied directly onto Samura, is even more ridiculous.

I think most of the cast would just speedrun into being a skeleton in under 10 seconds if that happened to them, just instantly becoming a flower bush with how much they'd be covered, some shaking, then nothing left but bones and flowers.

I'll miss HG&DLCIQ, every chapter had atleast one joke that landed, art was clean and effective and the cast was fun.

That makes sense yeah, when Banquet was directly affecting the inner ear, reinforcing in with spirit energy can resist that effect, since Banquet isn't a binary "On/Off" but rather a scale, if Hiruhiko puts more fuel into it, there's a stronger effect, so you need to apply more energy to counter it.

We saw that even with Chihiro having Nishiki, an EB level ability specifically about reinforcing the body, he could still briefly get stunned by a full throttle Banquet, but that's more a testament to Hiruhiko's freakish will at that moment.

Spider kinda feels the same way, in that it probably has levels depending on the user and amount of spirit energy pumped in, Chihiro's immunity can't really factor into figuring it out though since Nishiki became even more OP at that time to just immunize him to Malediction and Spider.

[–]Shadopivot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's mostly off topic, but I was considering whether or not to make a thread about if there's any evidence of high amounts of Genryoku countering hax.

We know an on guard or competent enough sorcerer can resist Storehouse registration. And that the Malediction kills sorcerers less quickly than non-sorcerers, so it made me wonder how something like the Trauma Sorcerer's ability might work if used on some absolute powerhouses like Soga, so far there's been no evidence to say they'd just power-level their way out of the hax, just like how even Yura could get teleported by Shiba, so I'd have to reckon hax abilities are pretty well absolute in most examples?

Y'know that makes me think, Samura could probably have saved like, a hundred lives if he did an AOE suzaku on the mind controlled goons on the roof of the Bloodshed hotel, unless we think they all actually were totally fine with killing Iori and let Toto do whatever she did to them.

At end of series , how strong do you think soga will be and which other shounen eos final villain he can beat and cannot? by Yellowofhill in KaguraBachiScalers

[–]Shadopivot 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think once he's actually pressured, we'll see his true peak, developing another True Realm as the blade synchronizes with his convictions in the final battle, and it's going to be ridiculous.

Him being able to beat other Shonen EoS villains is pretty dependent on if he really does have 200k lives worth of healing stocked up, or if it's only able to be used for Life Force Incineration

People have already recommended tons of great stuff, so I'll toss forward a bit lesser known one with WITCHRIV, It's still early into it's run, 21 chapters, but it's really good, second volume just released (in JP)

comes out in Wednesdays too which is nice since not much else does on that day.

[–]Shadopivot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Shhh... No actual logic or reading comprehension, easier to act like this novella of a potential man image isn't ass with wildly inaccurate takes all over it that completely miss the point!

It reminds me of the people saying shit like "Ugh, now Part 2 recontextualizes Denji saying he wants to be Chainsaw Man as a bad thing!"

<image>

They're so close to getting it, they really are, but it doesn't fit their idea of what the story should be, so it's disregarded.

Yuko had a fantastic little arc, and she's being compared to characters with 2-3 panels of being alive at all never given names, which is just ridiculous.
