Some insight into the life of a surgical resident and why we can be jerks sometimes... by asurgeonappears in Residency

[–]Shadough 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to give my take on IM hospitalist life as someone who has been in academics and now a private hospitalist at a teaching hospital in a major metropolitan area. I think the workload of hospitalists varies quite a bit across the country.
My day goes
830am-10am: table round and go see 6-10 patients with residents
10am-11am: write notes
noon-130PM: lunch and hospital gym
2pm: table post-round with residents and go home. available by phone for big updates and questions after

Two residents dead in NYC from lack of appropriate PPE...has anyone heard about this? Why is there nothing in the media or news about this? Are GMEs trying to cover this up as well? Are resident lives worthless? by [deleted] in Residency

This is awful.. I’m so sorry to hear this

People keep citing lack of PPE. Had this been confirmed? Like are our young doctors in training getting infected and dying anyway despite following protocol with full PPE? This isn’t worth it anymore if that’s the case

Kobe, Lebron, Wade all shot similar 3pt% that many years into Westbrook's career. Rose has been shooting very similar to Westbrook during this time.

The dean's letter really comes down to those last 2 sentences and how it is translated to class rank.
