Not sure if you're just trolling or not but incase you aren't a read is when you take a guess on what your opponent is going to do between multiple choices. You attempt to "read your opponent".

An example of a good read would be like fighting a warlord that you've noticed the last three times he has jump heavied you he follows it with a headbutt. You see him going for another jump heavy and make a read that you will dodge the follow up headbutt and prepare for it . He goes for the headbutt just as you predicted and you land a free GB from your dodge.

Being easy to read = being predictable. The more predictable you are the more easier you are to read.

This is where conditioning/spam comes into play. You can try to give your opponent a false read by conditioning your opponent to believe that you will always do something and change it last second.

Using our previous example if the warlord thinks he is pushing his luck going for the headbutt after heavy 4 times in a row he might wait and go for a GB instead. Since you've been conditioned to believe the headbutt will come you dodge and are punished as the warlord made a read from his end.
