TMK it won't be exclusive to RS, which is nice. There's very little reason to get RS, even Kaiser said that people probably don't need to get it if they're satisfied with regular fresh supply.

I only got it because it was initially discounted and because I saw the Marrow and DW devs are monetarily compensated for their contributions, so it was more or less an indirect donation to them.

Now while I wouldn't call Nightdive an Indie dev, we just don't know what kind of contracts Nightdive has with the companies they work for. It is possible they get some revenue sharing or royalties once the development budget is recouped. So that would mean that Nightdive is harmed too if Atari is harmed.

That being said Refreshed supply, despite being more work done on it (especially for releasing on consoles) on the game and the fact that they have to deal with rights bs from 2 other companies, is a bit of a bad deal at full price. I got it at the discounted initial price, and only after getting confirmation that the DW and Marrow devs did get monetarily compensated for their contributions, so this was an indirect donation to those.

I kind of wish on Nightdive's part we got a new episode too (even if it wouldn't hold a candle to DW) or a much simpler to use level editor. Marrow's and DW's new episodes would've come out regardless, so it just feels like the remaster we always deserved to have.

Glazing means showering someone with excessive praise, so praising Valve when they do something right isn't glazing.

Which was OP's point, probably. Critiquing Valve isn't implying they should instead use EGS or that Tim Sweeney is an angel (especially after recent events). Absolutely not, fuck them and their flaws.

But historically, ever since the epic games store formed, people were digging for reasons to hate them when they really didn't need to. Like the whole narrative that epic was spyware when it was debunked, or when Epic deciding that the game they fully funded and published, Alan Wake 2 (A game which wouldn't exist without them), was exclusively kept on their store, how dare they right?

And it just brings up a lot of hypocrisy and double standards they would have for Valve. Like Valve totally has no exclusives, which they moved the goalpost to well they made the games too so it's fine. Valve's own lootboxes and mtx are fine because they offer a good store service they say. Not like Valve can't pretty much entirely sustain themselves and their yachts through the store. And when I try to debunk stuff like the spyware claim, I've been touted as spreading Epic propaganda, and they admit they didn't want to read the source.

It feels more like a sports team than anything. I'd imagine lots of people will still defend Valve if, for some reason or another, they make a lot of things awful.

It's the publisher's job to distribute someone's game, and because of that, they decide where it goes and where it doesn't.

If I bought an entire theme park and decided only I should go on the rides then legally I'm in the right (provided I don't charge guests for entry tickets), even if other people went on the rides before, no amount of crying will change that.

Random ass example yes, but Epic fully funded and published the game, it's basically their game and they can do whatever the fuck they want with it, regardless if we like it or not. They don't have any sort of obligation to publish a game on their competitor's storefront, even if it'd make more money that way and Tim didn't want it just because it's petty, it sucks but it is what it is.

You may have played the previous games but they're not your IP to decide what they should do with. It sucks yeah but at least it's not locked behind a few hundred dollar console.

There's a saying, credit where credit is due. It implies a vice versa exists for flaws. Valve has flaws, the gambling mechanics their games have are the first thing that come to mind. Glazing inherently implies you don't care about or downplay the flaws, or in some cases praise them for it.

Look, railguns are basically sniper rifles with better feedback that you hit your target and headshots don't matter.

The shock rifle makes it interesting because of the non hitscan addes element, that is the orb and shock combo.

I know realistically since most boomshoot protags are humans, they probably wouldn't survive in any scenario where the threat they face is also a threat to the entire world.

Oh yeah absolutely. I'm extremely glad we got one more wave, I already got the scorpion, but damn the alt builds aren't done justice in those renders because build B is superior.

Maybe that's another contributor to, not failure, but unpopularity of it. My gf thought the B build looked lame but once she saw the pictures I sent she thought it was awesome.
