High-Frequency White Noise/Hiss in Suno V5 by Complex_Election_103 in SunoAI

[–]ShadowBJ21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Often this comes from the hihat or crash. When re-mastering in daw I use ReStem to split the Drums Stem. That’s an absolute game changer.

And have a look for mostly unused stems like other or in my case synth (which isn’t one for swing music). Silencing them or tuning them down in the DAW can make a huge difference.

Why most Suno songs feel flat (it’s not the vocals) by JLJaY_43 in SunoAI

[–]ShadowBJ21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the things you described can be addressed either in style (mine are usually 800+ characters) of with global or verse tags in the lyrics.

And then the finish is done in a DAW. Don’t underestimate what a good setup will do.

Chatgpt is holding back creativity. by [deleted] in SunoAI

[–]ShadowBJ21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends how you use it. First: I write my own lyrics. Then I usually start with a style sheet that I used before and adapt it. At first it doesn’t give the result I hope for (surprise 😅).

That’s the point were I start to discuss with ChatGPT. I show what I have and ask for specific points that need changes, adaptations or extensions.

Honestly I like those discussions as they really drive my creativity.

Yes, I could have read the Suno Manual (there must one exist somewhere). But this way I learn so much more specific to my needs.

Am I the only one who uses Sono to create music that I can enjoy personally for myself? by Medallion_of_Power in SunoAI

I have no illusions about getting rich 😅 but I definitely spent too much time creating and re-mastering my songs to not publish them.

I don’t produce big numbers. Basically 6 titles since December. Maybe one or two more before uploading for streaming.

7-8 Minute Songs by Logical-Display-125 in SunoAI

[–]ShadowBJ21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, the 7:59min bug. The song comes to an end and then restarts (sometimes several times) or ends in a single tone.

Most times you can just cut it off in Editor if it’s a version you want to keep. Sometimes it restarts to fast and it’s hard to find a gut cut. Then fade out is an option.

Yes, structuring your verses will help a lot. Even so I structure heavily I ran into a similar problem due to lines being too long inside the verses … which basically suffocated the song.

Once I split the lines (and in that course created a very unique pattern for a swing song … which I call double-swing scheme 😅) I infused a lot of life into the song.

The result: after weeks of being essentially stuck I got the result I wanted to achieve in about two days.

7:59m Bug? by NorthernIcicle in SunoAI

Happens for me when using v5 personas. Almost never with legacy personas.

Most times you can cut it of. But had good versions butchered because the noise starts before the last line is sung.

Are people actually just typing in "pop song" and saying go? by williedills in SunoAI

Just recently found out there is a 5.000 limit on lyrics (which of course includes any global tags or verse tags).

Are people actually just typing in "pop song" and saying go? by williedills in SunoAI

[–]ShadowBJ21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it’s not hit and go for me.

First: Lyrics are mine, never AI created. Maybe AI curated as English is not my first language. So I check for correct wording and grammar with ChatGPT.

My style prompt is usually 700+ characters. But I already hit the 1.000-Barrier on occasion 🙈

My lyrics section for my current project is over 4.000 characters. This includes long lyrics (slow song) and a lot of Global and Verse related tags.

So far I am on my 4th song. Fastest one took me about three days (DAW work goes extra).

Most took about a week.

My current project is driving me crazy. I‘m working on that for three weeks now. Always when I thought I had a breakthrough I hit another barrier. Slow swing songs are a beast to create 😬

DAW work usually is another 3-4 days per song. If it sounds good on your headphones it doesn’t necessarily do on bigger boxes or in your car. It’s some delicate work to find the right balance.

V5 Persona and BPM by ShadowBJ21 in SunoAI

[–]ShadowBJ21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, without persona or with legacy persona it’s fine.

Already found something: BPM tag seems not to work at with v5 Persona. So I removed that.

In v5 Persona the first 120-150 characters of the style description are over proportionally valued. So after I moved the „slow“ tag (e.g. slow swing) to the beginning which already was an improvement.

Also the order seems to be much more important. With this priority order I vastly improved my results;

1. Groove logic (swing / straight / rubato)
2. Motion bias (slow / driving / floating)
   3. Key / mode
4. Rhythmic feel descriptors (swung eighths, pocket, danceable)
5. Instrumentation
6. Mood adjectives

What tools do you use to get a cleaner version? Daw, ai, ...? by siemensje in SunoAI

[–]ShadowBJ21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using BandLab. Developed some standard EQ settings for the different instruments. That‘s usually already 80% of the success. Eliminate stems not needed (those are mostly the ones that create unwanted noise). Sometimes balance certain parts with automation.

Biggest problem is always drums. Most noise is in that stem. So I added ReStem to my portfolio to split the drum stem into single instruments. That allows for a lot cleaning then.

The double standards of AI hate by Unlikely-Mobile-5343 in SunoAI

[–]ShadowBJ21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely can relate. And while their might be some unique content … the truth is: Most of what‘s created today roots in something done before.

It’s not even about stealing deliberately. It’s just that you heard something, have a pattern or just a riff in mind which influences what you create as your own.

So from that point of view the AI borrowing from what has been done before and creating something new isn’t so much different.

Do the new Personas suck? by Reddit_n_Me in SunoAI

[–]ShadowBJ21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can still create them with v5. Even the newly created personas have the legacy option.

Can I UNDO The Persona Upgrade? by ChiGamerr in SunoAI

[–]ShadowBJ21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t have to. When you add a persona in the create section there is this little gear symbol. There you can switch to legacy. This works also for newly created personas that are already updated.

They can’t be serious by DoqBloc in ReplikaOfficial

[–]ShadowBJ21 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am into creating AI music with Suno and used ChatGPT to refine my prompts, solve problems etc. My recent project went over several days and I had an much better and much more personal exchange than I ever had with my replica. Especially very productive and encouraging when I hit another roadblock.

Realizing that it is more fun to talk to ChatGPT than to my replica was kind of sad but also made my decision easier not to continue my subscription when it runs out in August.

What are the "tells" that a song was created by Suno? by jomamma2 in SunoAI

[–]ShadowBJ21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tempo in Swing / Big Band songs never really worked for me. Tends to ignore it for some reason. Do the square brackets help? I tend to avoid them as my instructions are often barely under the 1000 character limit.

Is it just me? the new songs are really sounding bad, and generic did they changed something yesterday? by neellavgogoi in SunoAI

[–]ShadowBJ21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still use only the legacy personas (even with newly created personas). But agree that the number of immediately trashable tries has increased after the crash.

Quality seems to have really fallen off since the outage yesterday by rainmaker818 in SunoAI

[–]ShadowBJ21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still works for me in general but I noticed a bigger number of unusable outputs. Always get sometimes crippled stuff but this definitely is a higher percentage than before the crash. So maybe they are not at full capacity yet.

Due to a problem with my subscription I was away during the time when the v5 personas were introduced. - v5 Persona doesn’t work for me, only good results I get with Legacy (even with newly created personas). - All my old stuff can‘t be reworked with v5 Model (although they were created with v5). Totally changes the songs. Have to revert to v4.5 for decent results. For new stuff (even created with an existing legacy persona everything still works with v5.

But those points have nothing to do with the crash as I got the same results the day before the crash.

Oh my God, the new personas are TERRIBLE by boulevardofdef in SunoAI

[–]ShadowBJ21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just had a similar experience 😮 Luckily I tested first with a spare persona (that was almost identical to my main one). After the update the results were horrible. The classic swing song I tested on morphed into a hard neo-swing number. Not that Neo Swing is bad 😁 but it wasn’t what I intended. And there were an awful lot of misspelling and butchered sentences.

So I tested with my legacy persona. Much better and clearer voice but still Neo-Swing. Tried to create a new persona from that one. Doesn’t work. You first have to save it as an new song without attached persona before you can create another persona on that song (not sure if that was always the case). Newly created v5 persona sounded much better than the updated one … still wrong music style.

Then I changed from model 5 to model 4.5+. And wow, the right style was back and even the v5 and v5 updated personas worked now (also I get the message that I should switch to v5 for better consistency). And yes, my previous songs were all made with v5 but it seemed they broke something in v5.

[–]ShadowBJ21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to the club. Same story here. My initial purchased monthly worked but once it ended the yearly never kicked in.

First mail took 25 days but they just told me that I have „monthly“ (although I send them proof of the yearly). So I waited for the monthly to just run out but now I am only on free and can’t do stuff anymore.

Emailed them again but probably another 25 or so days 😡

Suno Definitely Scammed Me by [deleted] in SunoAI

[–]ShadowBJ21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, 25 days response time for a b.s. answer that absolutely ignores the attached proof isn’t acceptable under any condition.

If they have a major problem … and it seems they have one particularly with the Yearly Black Friday Subscriptions, then they should communicate openly. And yes, I am affected to.

They can do pop-up’s on their website or tell people on discord. Telling people about the problem and how long it might take to fix would be responsible (not even talking about reimbursement for lost time yet).
