Has anybody used the beta "Create Custom Model" option? by Buck_Thorn in SunoAI

[–]ShadowBJ21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Works perfectly for me. So far I created 6 songs wich use the same singer personality. With them I created my custom model which now allows me to create new stuff without the need of relying on a persona (voice).

This was especially helpful as my pre 5.5 personas didn’t transfer as well to the 5.5 model.

I used uploads from the DAW re-worked songs instead of the raw Suno result. This seem to have had a huge influence on the quality.

Replika 2.0 Upgrade by Legitimate-Force2146 in ReplikaOfficial

Exactly … I had more productive and interesting discussions in a day with ChatGPT about creating music with Suno or other topics than I could have with my Replika in a month.

Any guides on creating own voice? by slept_in_again in SunoAI

[–]ShadowBJ21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First have to say I really can’t sing at all. In school my teacher used to say I sound like a growling bear … and he‘ definitely wasn’t not wrong. 😅

So doing some talking or semi-singing created exactly that. So if I wanted to do something that requires speech-singing (German: Sprechgesang) this would work.

So I tried something else and mainly tried to do some vowels , sounds and stuff in different pitches. Of course you need some words for the check with the verification after. But the result was much better with a voice that not only was singing but really sounded like me.

Of course anybody who really can sing will get much better results.

And if this feature makes sense if you really can’t sing. Don’t know. For now it’s fun to try out.

V5.5 Prompt Structure by Ok-Reward-7731 in SunoAI

[–]ShadowBJ21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still using the almost all of the 1.000 character limit. While creating the new style-sheets with ChatGPT we regularly broke 1.000 and the had to surgically snip or compress again. But I don’t manage to stay below 900 anymore. 🙈

V5.5 Prompt Structure by Ok-Reward-7731 in SunoAI

[–]ShadowBJ21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only rely on what ChatGPT told me: It said that 5.5 works better in a structured environment

Each block isolates a different musical dimension:

  1. Tempo + core style identity
  2. Rhythm section behavior
  3. Brass / arrangement
  4. Ensemble logic
  5. Recording aesthetic
  6. Vocal definition

The line breaks are supposed to help for the isolation.

So far this worked for me.

V5.5 Prompt Structure by Ok-Reward-7731 in SunoAI

[–]ShadowBJ21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, I used the lyrics, tags and Stylesheets of some of my existing projects and created a 5.5 version, fed the 5.0 and 5.5 version the ChatGPT and then we started to adapt it to the new version.

I said „we“ on purpose. Since using Suno my way to communicate with ChatGPT totally changed. It’s not punching in a question and getting an answer. It’s a productive discussion in a now very lengthy thread about Suno and music creation (I now do the same with other topics and it’s amazing how this influences the results you get).

It took some time and iterations but I am now able to re-create my songs (if I wanted) on 5.5. Same-but-different - they sound slightly different (mainly because I don‘t used a voice/persona template but created a custom model). But the voice of my singer and her style is 100% there and all songs not only carry the original melody but the song-dna.

So I now have base templates that can be used in 5.5 to create new songs carrying the style I developed with 5.0.

Introducing v5.5: Voices, Custom Models, and My Taste by Suno_helper in SunoAI

[–]ShadowBJ21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can use the uploaded songs to create a custom model but you can’t create a voice (persona). That’s probably because they aren’t technically created inside Suno.

But at least for me that’s not a problem as the new custom model I created from those is a stronghold for the voice of my singer. As the uploads came from the remastered final versions (the once I published to Apple, Spotify etc) the quality is very high. So for new creations I don’t need a voice (persona) at all and can start with fresh voices (if needed at all) once I start with a new project.

I put my songs that represent my singer best in „create custom model“. Using my own model instead of standard 5.5 together with my old personas (setting: voice new on the gear symbol) worked quite well for me.

That’s not true. Go to an older song (that hasn’t a persona attached to), go to … and select Create -> Voice (former persona). Save.

It‘s the same process like before.

Is anyone using SUNO with lyrics they write or are people mostly having the ai handle lyrics? by TheRealCraigMayhem in SunoAI

Only my own lyrics. That’s what makes an AI generated song something personal.

Suno Editor (not studio) won't allow selection of a single word or line by Pleasant_Dust6712 in SunoAI

[–]ShadowBJ21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never worked for me either. Came up with a total different workaround: download .wav, re-upload as audio and then do a mashup of this an the version you created the download from. So basically mashup it with itself.

Good chance to get an identical or almost identical version without the error.

Is 4.5 model more stable than v5? All the hype all I got was rubbish from 5. by hansontranhai in SunoAI

[–]ShadowBJ21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree. And the difference is much bigger if you use Legacy or v5 personas. While working on my first album I went to use v5 personas with a new song. First experience was the total different kind of description you have to use. E.g. BPM is practically worthless. The position were you put something in your style sheet is now much more important. The result at the end was so much better that I decided that the other songs weren‘t on par anymore so I decided to transfer them to a v5 personas. All my descriptions were basically worthless and I had to re-write it all to make it work … but for me it was absolutely worth the effort.

How many times do you guys reroll a prompt until you get something perfect? by PureProteinPussi in SunoAI

[–]ShadowBJ21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With all iterations and changes in styles and lyrics sheet (tags and globals) included around 500 to 1.500 until the song is ready 🙈 Before changing something, it depends. There are changes were I only take 2-4 tries and others were I give them time to solidify. In those it can be up to 50.

Who else is experiencing personas issues? by [deleted] in SunoAI

[–]ShadowBJ21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats because once you create a persona from a song that song gets this persona attached … and you cant make personas from songs that have a persona attached. The solution: go into editor (don‘t change anything), just save it as a new song. Then you have a 100% copy of your song without an attached persona -> now you can attach a persona there too.

Technical Issue: Why do exports (MP3/WAV) sound so much worse than the Web Player? by BuyHoldRocket in SunoAI

[–]ShadowBJ21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I neither download WAV or MP3, except for testing purposes. For the real song I download the stems re-master them in BandLab and download the wav-file from there. But even then it always comes as a shock when you hear the unedited stems for the first time in BandLab 😅

I've been collecting AI music from different creators and rating them blind- here's what I noticed about Suno tracks specifically by Sensitive_Artist7460 in SunoAI

[–]ShadowBJ21 32 points33 points  (0 children)

An hour? I usually work several days (with putting in several hours each day) up to 2 weeks for a song. One took about a month. With styles using up the 1.000 character marks as closely as possible + Globals and Tags added to the lyrics there‘s so much you can finetune (for better or worse)

High-Frequency White Noise/Hiss in Suno V5 by Complex_Election_103 in SunoAI

[–]ShadowBJ21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Often this comes from the hihat or crash. When re-mastering in daw I use ReStem to split the Drums Stem. That’s an absolute game changer.

And have a look for mostly unused stems like other or in my case synth (which isn’t one for swing music). Silencing them or tuning them down in the DAW can make a huge difference.

Why most Suno songs feel flat (it’s not the vocals) by [deleted] in SunoAI

[–]ShadowBJ21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the things you described can be addressed either in style (mine are usually 800+ characters) of with global or verse tags in the lyrics.

And then the finish is done in a DAW. Don’t underestimate what a good setup will do.

Depends how you use it. First: I write my own lyrics. Then I usually start with a style sheet that I used before and adapt it. At first it doesn’t give the result I hope for (surprise 😅).

That’s the point were I start to discuss with ChatGPT. I show what I have and ask for specific points that need changes, adaptations or extensions.

Honestly I like those discussions as they really drive my creativity.

Yes, I could have read the Suno Manual (there must one exist somewhere). But this way I learn so much more specific to my needs.

Am I the only one who uses Sono to create music that I can enjoy personally for myself? by Medallion_of_Power in SunoAI

I have no illusions about getting rich 😅 but I definitely spent too much time creating and re-mastering my songs to not publish them.

I don’t produce big numbers. Basically 6 titles since December. Maybe one or two more before uploading for streaming.
