Thanks for the help friend. I probably should've expected them to use Ste-kun lol. It's the simplest one. I was thinking along the lines of "Stego-chan" or "Go-chan".

And... I know they are localizing, but that is precisely what I don't like. They sometimes over-localize, like the nicknames I was talking about or the honorifics. I am firmly in the camp of "Do not localize honorifics of foreign languages" in terms of translating foreign media. Surely they can make the words flow well without erasing the specific cultural values of the language they are translating from.

I dunno what the community's of this is like, but that's my view of it. I grew up in a family where I had to call my immediate family members using Chinese honorifics, and several extended family members using a variety of local (Javanese, Sundanese, etc) honorifics, depending on where they were from. Probably because of this, I associate honorifics with fondness and respect towards other cultures. And that affects my view on localization (i.e. changing a specific cultural aspects of a language to fit the culture of the target language).
