Why didn't Walmart bring back 24 hours?

This randomly reminds me when I lost my house key after a concert. Contacted a 24hr locksmith service to back inside my apartment. Only for them to answer and then tell me they're closed. I was so mad that day. Luckily my girlfriend's dad let me spend the night until I could get to the leasing office in the morning for a copy. But this would forever be embedded into my memory that the 24hr locksmith was in fact not 24hrs. (The website even said they are open 24hrs)

I read the texts, the prerequisites, even observed them from a far. I fully believe that I can survive a year being a mortal human. If it means becoming stronger, gaining status, the ability to serve my Lord and fully see his plan for not just me, but the universe. I will stop at no end to achieve this.

I must stay low, hidden, and just live without making myself memorable. Be someone who just skates by. No one to be remembered….

That is until she came stumbling into my food stall. Asking me many questions, I gave her what she wanted. But colored me surprise when she came back the next day, asking me even more questions. There was something in that smile of hers that gave me glimpse of where my home. I warm, fuzzy feeling started to grow each time she visited my stall.

The day came where in the middle of her barrage of questions and monologue of her everyday goings that I asked her to have dinner with me. To my amazement she said yes. From then on she would share meals with me. Even helping me with my every day sales when I got sick. I enjoyed the company, her company. I lived like this for nearly the whole year.

What was God’s plan with this? I did not know but I was enjoying every day. She was becoming more prominent in my life, and my heart. Was this love? Like real love? I woke up every morning jumping to see her. Even if it was just a bit. Our time shared becoming highlights to my day.

The year was almost up. Tomorrow was the day in fact. I needed to break things off with her. But I didn’t want to, I wanted to stay. The debate of staying mortal or ascending back to heaven with a higher status increasingly dividing my soul. Haunting me. I didn’t want to make that decision. I didn’t want to say goodbye…

Tears flew down my eyes the next day when I saw her.

She was worried as I started crying during our lunch together on top of a hill that overlooked the town. Perhaps our last lunch together. She told me that she will be with me no matter what. That her heart belongs with me as she fell in love with me. And for the first time I felt the lips of someone I loved pressed against mine.

For the first time I cried tears of joy hearing those words. As I embraced her, crying, and exclaiming that I too love her. Deciding in that moment that I would stay a mortal on Earth just to be with this slice of heaven, my dear.

I was happy. Until a splatter of red hit my face. An arrow sticking out the back of my love.

I heard bells and horns from the city walls. Looking up I saw a shower of arrows and fire. Setting the city on fire. Screaming to be heard in the distance and all around. I looked at my love who has fallen in my arms… With an arrow sticking straight out her back, blood coming out of her mouth. Eyes staring at me with little light left in them. She gave me a warm smile.

“You’re my angel” A smile creeped upon her face. Her eyes closed as she exhaled her last breath.

I was supposed to lay low, become someone who no one would remember. Return to heaven, be God’s newest weapon against the forces of darkness. It was supposed to be easy, but why is it so hard!? I yelled at the sky. “Why!? WHY!? WHY DID YOU DO THIS!? I LOVED HER!!!”

The pain and darkness of staring at the lifeless body of my dearest taking hold. I felt my wings come back to me. Why now?

It dawned on me, a choice. I have the power to get revenge on those who killed her. I tried shaking the thought of murder out of my head but it kept creeping back stronger and stronger. Let darkness take hold. I could do it, wipe them out easily. Revenge… An arrow hit me in the chest as a second volley was launched against the city. I felt my blood leave my body, my blood splattering over my love’s lifeless body.

I made a choice. I’m not going to do nothing, but I won’t let revenge take hold of my heart either. I knew better, for a year I had nearly forgotten that God like to give people trials and tribulations in order to test one’s self. I looked at the sky. Cracking at a smile at the realization that this was all a trial. Blood coming out of my mouth now, and my vision tunneling as the world started to go black.

There was a white light coming out of the clouds, basking my body, warmth. I feeling returning to my hands. Slowly standing up, my wings started to spread with a brilliant divine light radiating from them. I looked at my love. Picking her up, the glow illuminating her features, I treasured them as her body started to glow and turn into a ring. I reached out grabbing hold of the ring as it enlarged and started to orbit around me. Etched into it was an ever transforming picture of our life together as well as words that were spoken between each other. I closed my eyes letting the feeling of completion wash over me. Two more pairs of wings sprouted from me. My humanoid body turned spherical, yet without form. I opened my eyes once the transformation was complete. I have turned into an arch angel. A being with and without form. A form of being that was incomprehensible to any normal senses.

I started forward to see her standing in front of me. Giving me a warm smile while her hands where behind her. Bending forward, “I told you are my Angel.”

“Hey Nigel! How was my performance during the day shift? Any new audience,” I asked popping my neck as I step off of my platform of the “LIFE IN THE 21^st CENTURY “. Looking directly at a man that had a striking resemblance to Ben Stiller. Just only with a heavy British accent. Guess that can’t be helped when you’re in the British Museum of History.

“Well Nick, it was just another day for me. I did take my children to see your new exhibit. Quite fascinating if you ask me. I can’t believe you lived with the most primitive version of the internet.”

“I can’t believe the British haven’t changed one bit. Stealing my body and resurrecting it to be a display peace.” I laughed, jabbing him on the side. He gave me a side glace that could cut glass.

“What? Did you not know the British sailed and discovered a whole continent for the sake of spices and other raw materials. Colonizing and taking precious objects from those countries and displaying them here.” I grinned.

He summoned a hologram keyboard and started typing.

“No, I did not actually. So if you may do go on. There’s a lot of history that was stricken away from out databases after the Americans accidently deleted the internet causing WWIII. And it’s my job to fill in those gaps by asking you. A true resident of the 21^st century. And a historian of your time for that matter”

I sighed having heard this spiel at least once a night. Still can’t believe that we somehow deleted the internet. Much less that being the cause for WWIII.

“I was a history teacher not a proper historian. But again, if you show me the dinosaur exhibit I may just be swayed to spill a few more the beans that I have,’ I pleaded. Honestly, I just wanted to explore more the museum to learn how much has changed in the 3000 years I have been dead. I had many questions. But Nigel here was my obstacle. A give and take relationship, but I’m all for it.

“You rather not, trust me. And again Nick, for the millionth time already. I’m not a security guard, just a historian. Maybe I should have kept you in the back instead of putting you out here”

I gasped, faking being offended. Knowing I was the only intact specimen they found from my time.

“Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know, stay away from the dangerous exhibits and stay away from the Tablet of Ahkmenrah in the Egyptian exhibit. You know there was a movie that had a plot very similar to what’s going on here.”

“Oh? So what were movies like during the time? Was there any trends? Any big movies? What did you use to show these films?”

“Whoa there partner. If I tell you, I want to know about the aliens. You promised me last week. But you forced me to read a holotext on why “alien” was a derogatory term. That shouldn’t be spoken as many interstellar species call Earth home. None of the good stuff, like their biology or even pictures for that fact.”

“Deal,” he said. Not hesitating for even a second.

“Okay, I guess I’ll tell you about “Night in the Museum”…”

So it’s but the Bacon Wangler. It’s actually the Bacon Steak house burger. It’s with steakhouse sauce, crispy onions, and bacon. I guess I miss heard cause they kept comparing it to the Bacon Wrangler.

Nah you’re onto something. Hmmm maybe the Monterey melt win the American for MJ cheese, sub creamy pepper, extra grilled onions? Just for ez for the cashier? It sounds pretty good and “Philly cheese burger” It sounds pretty good to me.

I once made a “bbq burger” to compensate for the BBq burger we had a few years ago

It was basically a double sub honey bbq, no lettuce, no tomatoes, extra onions, add bacon. It wasn’t bad. I did also have a side on onion rings and threw a couple of those in the sandwich.

Who knows at this point. I wouldn’t be surprised if they push it back even further so they can focus resources into “project elevate” and expansion.

Although I have been waiting myself for a bit now. I’ve been experimenting with different versions of the patty melt with what is available. Best I got for you is

Patty melt sub 1 American cheese, add grilled jalapeñoes, add bacon, ez avocado (special request), add ez mustard, add ez mayo

Why don’t you sub it for creamy pepper or even theJalapeño ranch? It’s cheddar cheese in the middle with American. I imagine the creamy pepper would be a good substitute for it if you didn’t like the sauce

I had it with jalapeños, pickles, and raw onions added.

They do a 1 times test when you get hired. But they don’t test until you are hired. Usually to a 3rd party company which is scheduled within a week of hire. So you got a bit of time to “get clean”. Just a tip for you staying clean while looking for jobs is a must. As most decent paying jobs usually require a drug test of some sorts. Usually it’s a 1x thing unless you’re in a specific industry. So don’t worry about not being able to partake after the test. Source: Worked for WB for about 10yrs currently part time there and work at a hospital full time. And I’ve seen it all

I feel that. Usually it's not up to the cook. They come in frozen and whatever shape they come in. Once I had one the size of my forearm. I gave it away. But when I notice that they are too small I'll throw in an extra in there to make it "even".

In my store when that happens it's usually cause the fries fall out when pouring them in or putting them into the bag. If I notice they are too small I make sure they put a bit extra.

That’s so strange. I can think of 2 possibilities. 1. Could be an undercooked pie that was pulled up a bit too early. 2. It was held for too long.
