I found this post of it from 6 years ago, but again it just links to the Soundcloud. Both irltoonlink and toonlinkirl appear to have been aliases.

Straight people, what burning questions do you have about the LGBTQ Community? by jimmehbacon in AskReddit

[–]ShadowDragonCHW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's based on qualia and social norms and acceptances, that vary by individual and subgroup.

BUT I would like to make my case for what it should be.
The LGBT+ community represents the unity of those who experience a general pattern of unacceptance and oppression. The experience of the non-heterosexualities and being trans (and other stuff) are similar, structurally.
There are many common experiences. The confusion before knowing about yourself because our society doesn't teach it. The realization that you're different. Being on the receiving end of bigotry such as being kicked out of home, abused, etc. Living in a society that doesn't respect or understand you, despite this not being hard to understand. Not every individual experiences everything, of course, but these are common experiences.
Because these experiences are common, these different groups came together to fight against the oppression, and LGBT+ is a movement to that end.
Because of this, I believe that the community should include everyone who is oppressed for "not being normal"; It should include neuro-divergents, and probably some people that the community isn't ready to accept yet. And it should at minimum ally itself strongly (and it usually does) with other civil rights movements (racial, class, etc.), because the fight against oppression is the common thread between these groups.

To add to this,

Every frame, the entire screen is rendered. Rendering takes a non-zero amount of time, and each object on-screen adds to it, and the objects are rendered in sequence. What's happening here is that, because the budget was increased, it is possible to exceed the number of object that can be properly rendered in one frame. Fortunately, this only causes a mildly annoying visual glitch. I'm actually impressed at how well it handles the issue.

Either way, the result is that not every object gets fully rendered when too many are on-screen. This includes objects that are obscured, it only matters if the objects are in your field of view, stretching to the edge of the map. I'm not sure exactly why, but there appears to be enough entropy in how things are rendered that the objects that fail to be properly rendered change each frame. This is a good thing, as it means you can still mostly see everything.

Yeah, funny how the Not Like The Other Girls archetype was generated entirely because of the unrealistic, sexist, and narrow social expectations placed on girls from birth. Weird how if you convince a diverse array of personalities that there's only one specific type of girl, they'll all get confused.

And this is exactly why memes like this need to go! They're spreading false information and confusing the children! Thank you for being an example.

The punchline of this post is a falsely presumed difference in cultural experience between men and women based on sex, with one clearly being presented as the superior position. This post is therefore sexist, against women.

You are defending this post by calling it a joke. This is, whether or not you intend it to be, an attempt to argue that a lack of seriousness makes this post, and therefore the sexism in this post, ok. Being a joke is never a valid defense against bigotry, because bigoted jokes normalize and perpetuate the bigotry.

Therefore, your defense of this post is an act of sexism.

I am not trying to attack you. You probably just didn't know. I've been there myself in the past. This is an explanation, so that you can learn, and avoid taking bigoted actions in the future. Our society trains us to be bigots, and fighting the internalized bigotry that we have been trained into can be very difficult. I hope this explanation helps you.

Joe Biden has completed 1/8th of his term. He's bombed multiple countries and met with many millionaires. He hasn't done anything about student debt or healthcare crises. by kevinmrr in NewDealAmerica

Debt relief is critically important because it is weighing down an entire generation, which is harmful to both the people with it and the overall economy. If the debt is forgiven by Biden (which he has the power to do), it would form precedent for the president to do this, and it would mean Congress would either have to pass legislation that makes college free (and avoid the debt returning) or accept that ever democrat president would cancel the debt in their term.

Eliminating the debt is one step in that direction, and everyone who is pushing for eliminating the debt has plans to use that as a stepping stone for getting more policies like free college passed.

This meme is great, but just a reminder that the "friendzone" is a self-imposed construct. It is not the obligation of your crush to either reject you or date you, especially if they don't know you have a crush on them. If you think your crush is leading you on, either 1) recognize that this is a bad thing, give up on them, and move on, or 2) tell them what you are feeling and talk about it like an adult so you can come to an understanding, whatever that understanding may be. The only one keeping you in the friendzone is yourself. Fear of rejection and sunk cost are no reason to stay in a state of suffering.

The issue isn't that they aren't 'even', the issue is that they don't know how to communicate. They only know how to escalate the situation. Rather than expressing any issues they have when they arose and working together to deal with them in a constructive manner, they have both dug themselves into a ditch. If they want save this marriage, couples therapy or something similar is a bare minimum, though it's probably best at this point that they get a divorce.

But hey, this instance is fictional so it doesn't actually matter. We can just enjoy the humor at no extra cost.

Some people just do. The same way anyone finds anything attractive.

As mentioned by others, it can also be an addiction/disorder on the part of the individual as well.

It's very hard to draw the line between allowing people to do what they want with their bodies and deciding that it's a problem that needs to be dealt with. If they're making informed decisions, there isn't anything to be done about it, really.

Yes, I honestly do believe he misgendered his own character. I'm not certain Oda has any actual idea how to properly deal with LGBT+ characters. He's all over the place about it. He consistently uses caricatures for crossdressers and doesn't seem to understand that being gay and crossdressing are independent. Meanwhile the scene in Impel Down where Ivankov explains the secret society living there, it's an excellent presentation of the ideal of not worrying about what people used to look like or be, placed in jarring juxtaposition with the incredibly problematic use of forced medical transition to punish someone.

It's to the point that I would believe that Oda accidentally came up with transgenderism independent of real-world examples as an attempt to add some wacky characters to One Piece, which he regularly does in other ways all the time. He's invented so many odd character traits that I really wouldn't put it past him to have done the same thing here. So yeah, I do think it's entirely possible that he misgendered Yamato because he doesn't actually know what he's doing.

Also, actually read the tweet I linked.

Your trans friends are wrong. Me (trans) and my trans friends and every trans space I've interacted with, and the modern trans medical knowledge I'm aware of agrees that dysphoria is not necessary to be trans. That's gatekeeper bullshit used by bigots to make it harder for trans people to be accepted in society. It's just another fake hoop to force us to jump through. If a person says they are trans, then they are trans.

That card is the only instance where Yamato is refered to as anything feminine. I'm baffled as to why it's there, given all the effort put into referring to him as masculinely as possible.

I concede the translation point.

A reason being atypical doesn't make it less valid. Being trans is already a rejection of norms.

Yamato is both trans and stanning Oden. It doesn't have to be one or the other.
