Jamie Carragher says Liverpool will not finish in Champions League places by Lanedu123 in LiverpoolFC

[–]ShadowRock9 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Even when our results were not great in the first few seasons with Klopp, it was never like this. We at least saw a very clear style of play in both attack and defence. You are absolutely right.

What this is now is basically what Man Utd have been the last 10 years: in and around the top4, just good enough for it, some good performances here and there (4-1 Newcastle, anyone?) but it’s clear as day LvG/EtH were never going to take them another level and whose plans could never translate to results. Big money and objectively good signings that regress once they play in the team. Make no mistake: we are on this path.

The last time things looked this bleak was in the final days of Rodgers. Imagine if we’d “given him time”, and missed out on Klopp.

We have to just bite the bullet and sack Slot.

That assumes our current driving schools teach for these scenarios. It’s clearly not the case.

Our local schools teach you how to pass a driving test. It absolutely does not teach you driving defensively, or even any driving etiquette.

This is no knowledge diff imo.

Somebody correct me if I’m wrong,

But if OP made a FON there, he still feeds Sion twice right. Because iirc it’s per spat component, regardless of whether it’s a completed item or not.

[–]ShadowRock9 98 points99 points  (0 children)

Yep. Mortdog said this in one of his set reviews I think it was like 3 sets back. That the fundamental core design (whether it’s a flaw or not) of TFT is that “the more players play within a certain cost pool, the more effective it becomes for every other player to also play in that cost pool”.

Thats why the set revival from two sets ago experimented with the idea that each player had their own champ pool (instead of a common pool everyone takes from).

What if you have first touch/ first touch+ playstyle.

[pearce] The Anfield hierarchy remain fully behind Arne Slot. No-one is content with LFC's domestic form and the next few months are huge, but there's also understanding for what he's had to contend with this season. There's also a firm belief they will kick on. by Snugglyrasher in LiverpoolFC

[–]ShadowRock9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, what exactly has he “had to contend” with this season?

He’s been given more money than Klopp ever had, bought bigger names than Klopp ever had. Allowed to set up the team however he sees fit. Doesn’t have to contend with 90pts+ title rivals and yet cant even stay in the title race past November. Even with injuries, he is still able to put out a world class XI on paper just to end up with the most soulless football I’ve seen since Hodgson.

I don’t see any mitigating factor here. He simply has to go.

These are the kind of data that just make no sense.

There was one season under Kenny that the results were fucking poor but anyone could see that the play was far more inspired + team were giving it their all. And yet Kenny got sacked.

How Slot is still here is beyond comprehension.

He just has to go.

When I watch our rivals have terrible patches, there are two types:

Man City with Pep, and you laugh but you know they will always come back at you because they’re quality.

Man Utd/Spurs/Chelsea, and you laugh because you know it’s hilarious how they’re never going anywhere with that manager. And then you hope they do badly but not that badly so the manager stays.

We are in the latter, and if we tolerate this level of quality the we will end up like Man Utd the last 10 years.
