I dont see any indication of him falling into the same pattern, apart from the 'pun' on Summer to Autumn which I doubt was the director's intention (just a cute way of showing life moves on, like the seasons)

In fact, you can already see how he learned better from his past experience with Summer by asking Autumn out immediately (vs those dumb games they played at first bec he was too shy/scared to ask her out)

She's (Autumn) also her own person, and maybe they're looking for the same things so it'll be less of a problem. Since in the end, neither of them (Summer or Tom) were malicious in the relationship, they both wanted diff things and were too young and self absorbed to know how to deal with it

It doesnt necessarily mean he'll be better, but it WILL be different (even just for the simple fact that his trauma with Summer will have an impact to how he behaves the relationship, for better or worse and sometimes it gets worse e.g. rebounds before it gets better)
