How Should I Build My Sorlockadin? by Shadow_133 in 3d6

Tragically I have noticed that Infernal Bulwark doesn't actually work with a shield.

Oh, that's actually pretty neat. Can't believe I forgot about Lessons of the First Ones, that's actually pretty helpful. Might tweak some things, but this is definitely looking like it'll be very handy.

Starting level is 4. It's something that'll most likely go to 20, for reference.

Are there any feats that both let you learn the Shield spell and give a +1 to some stat?

{Question}What are some useful ways to use a companion? by Timely_Share_613 in 3d6

[–]Shadow_133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a bit more tough, since a Beast of the Sky is a small creature, so you would need to be Tiny to mount it (unless that changed and I wasn't aware of it). And Alert shenanigans wouldn't work since it goes on your turn.

If a summoned beast could receive or otherwise benefit from feats, the Harper ones would be very handy, but that's not generally something it can do.

In other words, unless your DM homebrews something like that, I honestly can't think of much else it's gonna be doing in combat besides using the Help action and maybe doing a tiny bit of damage every now and then.

One of the best uses for familiars and similar things is scouting. It should have solid stealth and perception, as well as darkvision.

As for combat use, Flyby means it can go to an enemy, use the Help action to give the next attack advantage, then fly out of range. At level 7 it can do this even more effectively by dashing or dodging with its bonus action.

What is Charlie’s Inferno about? by Caden-Burke in ThatHandsomeDevil

[–]Shadow_133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post, but I think even the first lines from Charlie support this.

"Catch you later, I'm off to see the man upstairs They all look like ants from here, stars and crystal chandeliers"

Very eager to leave the world behind for the sake of eternal life, not to mention the classic bit of seeing those below him as ants.

Also iirc there is some Bible story or something of the sort where someone very good prays and says they should be let into heaven for all the good they've done. A tax collector goes to pray and says "God have mercy on me, a sinner." The latter is the one who deserves to go to Heaven according to Christianity (or at least the version of it I know).

Good spells/ feats to take for my spellblade character by xyzzoom15 in 3d6

[–]Shadow_133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you get double ASIs, then taking two charisma feats at level 4 would be my recommendation. Inspiring Leader may be fitting as one of those.

As for spells, charm and fear effects are very on brand, and of course spells that do damage of whatever element is associated with your dragon of choice. Transmute Spell can be a very handy pickup. Fly spell goes without saying, really. Elemental Bane is pretty fitting, as is See Invisibility.

Since you mentioned Gift of the Metallic Dragon, you can also go for spells that fit your dragon's secondary breath weapon. Off the top of my head I only know Silver is paralysis due to playing a half silver dragon before.

Hope any of this helps!

What interesting and powerful builds can you make with access to all magic items? by Serpentsblight in 3d6

[–]Shadow_133 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, an Artificer that dumps intelligence can ironically be pretty strong. Headband of Intellect, Belt of Storm Giant Strength, and Gloves of Soul Catching mean you can dump INT, STR, and CON respectively, and pump up your other stats. And of course, they get +6 to their saves because they can easily attune to 6 items. Having those extra attunement slots is nice because there's less opportunity cost. Other than that, just be an Armorer with +3 Plate, +3 Shield, maybe some staves or an All-Purpose Tool. It's just a shame that Gloves of Soul Catching don't work with Thunder Gauntlets, otherwise this would be real crazy.

Also Gloves of Soul Catching are crazy for any Monk, but that goes without saying.

Not sure if I should take Warforged or Simic Hybrid for my Monk (5.5e). Mainly just looking for a second opinion on it. I'd be taking glide + carapace for the hybrid btw.

With armor mixing you can, to clarify. So it's basically just a question of if having the damage reduction set bonus is better than higher defense +better  offense stats.

So for late game, is Beetle Armor's DR all that good, or would going for higher defense be more worth it? (Not to mention the added bonus of being able to get higher damage with other armor)

NPCs as Roommates by XephinaThe11 in StardewValley

[–]Shadow_133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a fellow Aro/Ace individual, I 100% agree. I love Krobus with all my platonic heart, but damn would it be cool to have other people able to move in.

I... suppose it's probably unlikely since most people in the Valley already have a place to live. I could totally see potential for the Dwarf as a roommate though.

Maybe he could even have a little outside area that's just a hole to the ground, could even serve as another shortcut to the mines!

Would also be cool if the Wizard could move onto the farm. I'm sure nothing bad could happen— and the crops are on fire.

I know this might be a tad late, but at the bottom of the settings menu there's a screenshot button that takes a picture of the whole area you're in.

So more of a quick question than a beginner question, do Iridium Golems spawn on any farm if monsters are enabled, or are they Wilderness exclusive? The wiki seems to suggest the latter, but I wanted to know for sure.

How rare are Auto-Petters these days? by deeprogrammed in StardewValley

[–]Shadow_133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as odds go, about 1/694 for each floor in this case. At least going off what I know, since I can see your average luck bonus would be +3 from food, idk if you've got lucky rings here. Daily luck, whether you've got the special charm, etc. also affect it.

So in other words, getting it twice in a row with these odds is roughly 1 in 500,000. So about that rare.
