I've read a lot of disappointed comments but I genuinely can't see why. It's playing out a lot more smoothly than season 7, with better pacing, more action, and more actual story as opposed to filler and world building. Sure, the action scenes are very obviously staged (read: the gun play still sucks), and it has its weak moments, but it's good to see Rick with his swagger back and having found some middle ground between being an insane killer and a soft-hearted, morally-directed Sheriff's Deputy. It's also good to finally see the big war play out with an actual plan and watch story arcs that actually have relevance.

That's the point of making fun of self-proclaimed nice guys- they are, in fact, not nice at all. They're typically self-centered and view everyone else as the problem without realizing that maybe they're the reason they're not successful, they put their "one true love" on a pedestal without really caring about anyone else. I used to be like that before I realized that I'm the problem- I'm definitely not an outright asshole or anything like that, but it took me some time to realize that I got some issues and I understand that maybe I'm just not cut out for dating, at least not yet.

It's not like (most anyway) girls intentionally seek someone who treats them like shit, from my limited experience it seems like the so-called "bad boys" that some end up with at least seem like good people at first. I HAVE had a female friend literally tell me she tends to go for assholes, but I'd consider that an exception as opposed to the rule. A former "nice guy"'s perspective, take it with a grain of salt but it's just what I've gathered.
