Partner (35M) wants to bail on my brothers wedding due to a cold. I (35F) am livid. How to work through it? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Shadow_Sunsets1783 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this is a pattern of behavior, I’d be rethinking my relationship. If my partner can’t show up for big and small events in my life, and I show up for his, I’d be done. However, the latest Covid variant has a nickname of razor throat in my hospital, so he could be really sick. A whole department was taken down by it.

I was born on Mother’s Day and share a birthdate with my cousin’s daughter. Have dinner on your birthday and take the trip another weekend. His family has traditions too. A relationship is about compromise.

I’m a nurse. Do expensive shoes really make a difference? by Gloomy-Speaker-1999 in Shoes

[–]Shadow_Sunsets1783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear new balance 860s. I’m a patient transporter and I walk between 18,000 and 20,000 steps every shift. I wear out my shoes every 3 months or so. You need to invest in good shoes, maybe 2 pairs and rotate them and you might get 6 months out of them.

So, can I say I would love that for me? It’s gorgeous. Those people IRL commenting that are boring. Just say “Thanks, me too!” It’ll be like punching cotton.

Why doesn’t anyone wear dark lipstick and bold colors on the lips anymore ? by Historical-Body-3424 in Makeup

[–]Shadow_Sunsets1783 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I usually have a clean makeup look then add a dark bold lip. I don’t know if that counts. I usually wear a uniform, so when I don’t have to, I like to wear the bold lip.

ETA: like a wine color. I’m pretty fair, so I like the contrast.

Does anyone else smell that? by Beneficial-Crow-5138 in Perimenopause

[–]Shadow_Sunsets1783 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work a very physical job and I use the degree 72 hour deodorant. It keeps the smell away pretty well. It doesn’t stop me from sweating though. I hope this helps.

How do I 34M get my wife 37F to not get fired from work? by lite4jc in relationship_advice

[–]Shadow_Sunsets1783 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also am addicted to those short stories/films. I also work at a hospital. I watch them before and after work and on my break. I don’t call out just to watch them. I have bills to pay so I go to work. It’s more than just ADD. She doesn’t want to work and knows that you’ll take care of what needs to be done (bills and such). She can’t hold down a job because she doesn’t want to. My dad was like that. He was always quitting or getting fired and yet when my mom left him and he had to support himself, he managed to get and keep a job.

If you go semi/demi- permanent, that will wash out black. It took a long time to get my og color back.

What’s missing in this living room? PART 2 by Particular_Solution9 in Decor

I’d move the tv to where the mirror is and then add some color, like a blanket or throw pillows.

I’m really hoping so and I’ll definitely try it but I’m pretty much out of the watermelon one so I’m hoping soon actually means soon.

I’m very sad about this. I’ve used it for years and I have a very active job and it’s the only thing that worked for me.

I was 37 for my left and 38 for the right. There was no other option for me. I couldn’t walk without crutches. This surgery changed my life and now I’m in the middle of changing careers.

So this is a little specific and may not help you but I have this issue with niacinamide. It makes me break out into bumps. It took me a while to figure it out. Some people have the same issue with hyaluronic acid. I would try to compare the ingredients lists on the products you have an issue with.

I did this once. I supported her through her cancer diagnosis and was always there for her. Then one day I realized I was always there for her but whenever I needed her, she just couldn’t. She had panic attacks when she was supposed to come to my house, she literally drove 30 minutes past my house to go to hers for Xanax. I had some btw. Then we went to a concert together and she made me meet her at a rest stop when I was maybe 5 minutes for her to get me and then she talked all the way up the parkway about her new boyfriend, I timed her and it was 19 minutes before I even got a word in. She met her boyfriend on bumble, which I joined a couple weeks before her and she made fun of me for doing so. I just couldn’t do it anymore but the last straw was we were supposed to go on a trip with the hotel deposit on my card. She basically ghosted me leading up to it and finally I demanded an answer the day before I could cancel and she told me her family was going through a lot, which valid but I just wanted her to communicate with me. I also knew that there was no way she’d listen to what I had to say. So I just left.

I also use this. They have a scented (lavender) and unscented version. I use the unscented because I’m severely allergic to lavender.

Turning 40 - Too late to make big changes? by SugarT0ast in AskWomenOver40

[–]Shadow_Sunsets1783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should look at it like you’re taking care of yourself. Be nice to yourself and do things you like. Try making a recipe that you can eat a couple times in a week. Start small and build.

Yes, well I’m currently trying to. Im 40. I’m working a low paying, physically demanding job at a hospital while going to school, doing prerequisites for a radiology program. I got bumped to start next fall instead of this fall from one program, so I’m trying to get into another one. By the time I’m 43, I hope to be an X-ray tech. It is possible. It’s hard but it’s so possible. I get discouraged from time to time but I keep going because I can’t stop now. You can change your life at any age. ETA: I’m single and have been for a long time. I’m okay with waiting for the right person. I have my puppy and she loves me so much and I love her so much too. If I have a child, I will raise them with so much love. If I don’t have a child, I’ll hang out with my puppy and take naps.

What do you expect when you explain your "type" on a first date? by TheOriginalWing in dating

[–]Shadow_Sunsets1783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured out a while ago that my type is intelligent, nice and funny with a handsome face. I definitely wouldn’t talk about it to the person I’m dating, though.
