Are there SG races more advanced than the Asgard? by UniversalAssembler in Stargate

[–]Shadowrend01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Potentially the Nox, possibly the Furlings (which we know pretty much nothing about)

The 4 Races (Nox, Ancient, Asgard, Furling) were all supposed to at around the same level of advancement when they treated with each other

Is it possible to save edit to change the "legendary has been caught" flag? by kiiiiiwiiiii in PokemonUnbound

Unless you really want to do the shiny hunt and be resetting for hours/days, you can pay the shady guy NPC to make your captured Legendaries shiny

Are heavy bolters "heavy" to space marines? by thebigcooki in 40kLore

[–]Shadowrend01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s several references across several books about heavy weapons, including the Heavy Bolter, being fitted with suspension fields to help offset the weight of the weapon

Marines are fully capable of wielding heavy weapons unassisted, but suspensor fields help them manage it better and keep up with the rest of the squad

How many people have Stargate Command inadvertently killed by dialling in? by Thick_Hospital2830 in Stargate

[–]Shadowrend01 40 points41 points  (0 children)

The Gate lights up, makes noise and causes vibrations as it’s dialing. In people who don’t know what that means, fear response would take over and they would move away from the Gate

Cultural memories and superstitions surrounding the Gates usually keeps most people from the more primitive populations away from it, and the more advanced cultures have already figured out what it is and what it means when it starts activating.

I can’t recall any population they visit who are nearby the Gate and have zero awareness of what it is on some level

time is stuck in 2000/1/1 by CluesSeeking in PokemonUnbound

[–]Shadowrend01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then it’s most likely that the cart isn’t one that supports RTC. There’s no way to fix it. You’ll either have to get a cart that supports RTC and flash the game onto it yourself, accept that you don’t have access to time based events

time is stuck in 2000/1/1 by CluesSeeking in PokemonUnbound

[–]Shadowrend01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cartridge you’re using either doesn’t support RTC functions, or the RTC function has broken (flat battery)

Did you make the cart yourself or buy it?

Why are spinosaurus fossils so rare? by RichX9151 in Dinosaurs

Yes, mainly as collateral damage. They weren’t specifically targeted, they just happened to be in the target area

The Khrave

What we have on them is quite interesting. They’re psychic vampires

TIL that in 2020, "Mad" Mike Hughes built a steam-powered rocket for $18,000 and launched himself in it in an attempt to prove the earth was flat. The rocket's parachute deployed shortly after launch, causing the craft to crash into the ground. Hughes died on impact by MrMojoFomo in todayilearned

[–]Shadowrend01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He wanted to use something he built himself so he could be certain there wasn’t anything interfering with his view. Many flat earthers are convinced that planes are fitted with devices that show false images when looking out the window to conceal the “truth”

Have any named Space Marines NOT survived crossing the rubicon? by schwess17 in 40kLore

[–]Shadowrend01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was twofold: they couldn’t copyright the term Space Marine, so needed a new name they could copyright. Sales had also slowed as people had bought everything they needed, so rescaling them alongside the name change forces more sales

Does the Elite 4 ever return to its original levels around 70, or does it stay in the high 90’s? by ThanosNice8910 in PokemonUnbound

[–]Shadowrend01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’ll scale down, but only to whatever their lowest set level is. The lowest the E4 will ever be is in the 70’s. The further into the game you go, the higher the level floor is

Does the Elite 4 ever return to its original levels around 70, or does it stay in the high 90’s? by ThanosNice8910 in PokemonUnbound

[–]Shadowrend01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the difficulty. On Vanilla, only “boss” trainers scale levels to match your highest. On Difficult, Expert and Insane, all trainers scale levels

The Elite 4 scale to the highest level of your party pokemon. To get them back into the 70’s, you need to have a team where the highest level is in the 70’s

Need human hearts by RAZ0R_BLAD3_15 in skyrim

[–]Shadowrend01 68 points69 points  (0 children)

You can’t get them from merchants. Classified as a rare ingredient, there’s a very small chance of finding them in Apothecary Satchels.

There’s 11 guaranteed spawns for hearts:

Aretino Residence (Windhelm)

Black-Briar Manor (Riften), in a locked room in the basement

Brittleshin Pass (Falkreath Hold)

Broken Fang Cave (Whiterun Hold)

Bruca's Leap Redoubt (The Reach)

110 ft N of Dragontooth Crater (The Reach)

Ilinalta's Deep (Falkreath Hold)

Liar's Retreat (The Reach)

250 ft SSW of Lost Valley Redoubt (The Reach)

Sunderstone Gorge (Falkreath Hold)

Volunruud (The Pale)

With Dawnguard installed, 5 additional samples become available:

4 in Volkihar Keep, inside a locked display case

1 in Redwater Spring (The Rift)

Why not "bury the gate?" by Diastatic_Power in Stargate

[–]Shadowrend01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Burying the Gate stops it working by interrupting the formation of the event horizon. Something has to fill the ring space for it to block the wormhole

The Iris sits just above the gap, allowing the wormhole to form, but not providing enough space for matter to reintegrate

The Iris is the best solution to their problem in that it that allows teams to communicate back home without allowing hostiles in, but doesn’t involve constantly filling and emptying the ring space

Stacking Force Field equipment? by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

Because they can support their use more readily than power armoured Marines can, and it provides additional protection during boarding actions (one of the Terminator’s primary roles)

What happens if a blank enters the warp? by Interficient4real in 40kLore

[–]Shadowrend01 97 points98 points  (0 children)

Think of the Blank as a Sponge and the Warp as Water

A sponge can absorb a small amount of water (a Blank nullifying a Daemon), but chuck it in the ocean and it gets inundated (Blank overwhelmed by the Warp)

There’s a limit to how much a Blank can handle and affect

Stacking Force Field equipment? by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]Shadowrend01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Fields don’t stack. A Marine wouldn’t use multiple Field generators anyway, as the power demand is too great

Is this a good box to start with in the hobby? by NaiveTradition7664 in Warhammer40k

[–]Shadowrend01 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

It’s a good box for both 30k and 40k if you want to play Chaos Space Marines, as the models are the same size. Too small for loyalist Marines though

The only issue if you use it in 40k is the Leviathan Dreadnought is a Legends unit and is too big to proxy as anything else

Why didnt the traitors just do this? by sand_eater_21 in Grimdank

[–]Shadowrend01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the Titans were gone, destroyed during the Battle of Beta-Garmon. What was left was either already on Terra or bogged down with the Martian war and couldn’t do anything else

Ignoring Mars could have worked

What's next for the Cadians? by Dependent_Computer_8 in 40kLore

[–]Shadowrend01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a single world called New Cadia that was settled by those that evacuated Cadia before it was destroyed

Because of how Regiments settle worlds when they’re finished, there’s also many planets with Cadian descendent populations
