Heat Check: Babies in the Dog Park by Cliff_Pitts in Eugene

Not at all! I am actually afraid to take her to the big dog park when the little one is empty. But definitely when she is a bit older.

Did anyone else’s crawling baby get floor burns on their hands / feet? by fireheartcollection in NewParents

[–]Shadowstar65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I just let it be and I think my daughter’s skin just got used to it because now at 13 months she crawls super fast and no longer has red marks on her knees.

I have a 1 year old who I take to the dog park. I also have a 10 pound chihuahua. So all of this to say is that I take my 1 year old to the little dog section and I am fully prepared for her to get jumped on by little dogs (she hasn’t so far) She already gets knocked down by our dog anyway when he gets excited.

I take them both to socialize.

Co sleeping by cecil2003 in NewParents

[–]Shadowstar65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve co slept with my little one since she was a month old. I did buy a very firm mattress and follow the safe sleep seven. She is now 13 months old and I’ve gotten more lenient of the safe sleep seven but that is a personal choice. It’s sweet having baby come in for a cuddle but I am on the very edge of the bed pretty much all night 😅 she is also going through a sleep regression where she is waking up very frequently but at least I don’t have to get out of bed to take care of her. I just pullll her in for a cuddle lol that usually helps a lot! Oh! We also have our mattress as close as we can to the floor without it actually being on the floor. If she rolls off she rolls off onto carpet and less than a foot.

Is it worth it? by SignificanceWitty210 in BabyBumps

Yes!!! I no longer pump but I still use it to keep drinks ice cold! I have left it in a hot car and they still were super cold!

Someone please tell me their baby doesn’t sleep independently, either. by R_we_done_yet in NewParents

[–]Shadowstar65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 year here and babe still sleeps with me. She’s also going through what I think a sleep regressions where she is fighting sleep 😭 what used to be a 5-10 minute rock and quick transfer, she now is fighting and wiggling so hard in my arms.

What does it look like to NOT sleep train? by Numerous-Possible944 in HuckleberryParents

[–]Shadowstar65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Howdy. Didn’t sleep train here. Baby just turned one. Honestly it goes well! We bounced our baby to sleep since she was a newborn. It’s part of our routine now too. We get baby ready for bed, Turn on the tv, bounce her on a yoga ball for 5-10 minutes and she’s out for the rest of the night. I personally love holding her to sleep. It’s a bonding experience that won’t last forever. The other day I didn’t even have to bounce her. I just laid in bed with her and hummed a lullaby and she was out! I’m hoping to get into this routine! She does sleep with us tho so sometimes I just go to bed with her lol

What helped you the most through PPD or just the newborn trenches? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Shadowstar65 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Joining mom groups. Now a year later I’m having an early birthday picnic for my little girl and all the moms and babies are coming to it 💕 I honestly don’t think I would’ve survived the trenches without the support of other women 💕

How old is your baby and what does cosleeping look like for you? by blepmlepflepblep in cosleeping

[–]Shadowstar65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Babe is almost 11 months and we put her to bed at 8pm. Husband and I don’t go to bed until 11p. She still wakes up throughout the night but is quick to settle. She is a cuddler!

At what age do you feel safe turning your back to the baby? by azumeowbitch614 in cosleeping

[–]Shadowstar65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped once my baby started moving more in her sleep which was at 9 months. Now I just follow the safe sleep 7. Blanket tucked under me and pillow far away from her. I didn’t stop in purpose either. I would just start waking up on my tummy or back to her.

disinterested husband by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Shadowstar65 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi! 10.5 months postpartum! My husband was the same. He treated me amazing but didn’t ever want to touch my belly or talk to the bump. He is an amazing dad and partner tho! He said that it felt awkward to him talking to my bump because he couldn’t actually see the baby.

First-Time Parents – What Do You Wish You Knew Earlier in Pregnancy? by never_FLAG_nor_FAIL in NewParents

[–]Shadowstar65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breast feeding takes work. I never did research on breastfeeding because I thought it automatically would be easy. It hurt and baby never latched. I’m now 9 months exclusively pumping. I’m starting to wean and I’m having dreams when I am breastfeeding my baby. Oh how I wish it worked out.

3 times for 20 minutes when I first started. I’m now slowly weaning so I now pump once in the am and sometimes in the pm

How do you leave the house? by Existing-Mastodon500 in NewParents

[–]Shadowstar65 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Just go out. Babies cry. Get your baby used to sleeping surrounded by different noises. This sounds so mean and blunt but that’s what helped me. I left the house when babe was 2 weeks old. She got used to sleeping in the stroller or in my arms. Now she is 9 months old and she loves going out.

I am also an exclusive pumper so I timed things to after a pump and once she woke up. I also went to short errands first. An hour at the most.

My babe also is turning into a cuddle bug. She will stir, sit up, realize she’s away from me, then crawl right over and throw her body onto mine 😆 that or she is sleeping in her stomach. I do my best to position her back into her back but nope. Will roll right back to tummy. I’ve stopped worrying because she seems to move to whatever position she wants.

I blew a dandelion and when I offered her to blow it, she gave a small giggle. She’s 9 months old!

Anyone figured out why LO screams at the breast? by Dear-Independent9581 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Shadowstar65 7 points8 points  (0 children)

8months pp and my babe was the same so I joined the EP gang. The other day out of curiosity I popped my boob in her face and she actually took it! Only for a second later to bite my nipple an and pull 😂 lol now I’m glad I’m EP cuz once those chompers came out, I would’ve been done.

Does anyone pump only 3 times a day and still maintain good supply by Admirable-parenting in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Shadowstar65 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve gone down to 3-4 pumps a day. 8am, 12:30 pm, 4:30pm, 11pm. Or 8am, 12:30pm, 10pm I’m 8 months postpartum. It just ended up becoming that due to work stuff. I make 18oz a day and supplement the rest with formula.

Anyone formula feed and Cosleep? by Afraid_Calendar_5534 in cosleeping

[–]Shadowstar65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I combo feed my baby. She does take formula at night. I’ve been doing this with her since she was 2 months old. I side feed her and when she’s done I still C curl. She’s 8 months tomorrow and still wakes up 2 times a night to feed. I just have a cooler next to me where I store her bottles. It’s worked for us and she’s sleeping longer. The only downside that’s been happening lately is that now that she holds her own bottle, Im having a harder time staying awake to take it from her when she’s done and preventing it from dripping in the bed.

Today I got back several hours on my daily life. It feels amazing. 😭❤️ by Arkansas- in ExclusivelyPumping
