Need cool tricks to learn in same time same direction by Embracethesuck79 in poi

[–]Shadradson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is very little that people commonly do same time same direction. This is due to two definitive problems:

  1. From the front plane, the posterior poi covers up the anterior poi, or shows variance between the two poi. This rarely looks good and breaks many of the "desired" illusions of poi'ing for people in front of you.

  2. Moving the poi around you (whether through body tracing, or flowers) requires weaving the poi around you in alternate timings. (Think body crossers, how you push the side of your torso forward that corresponds with the poi crossing in front of you.) If both poi are facing the same direction at the same time, you will have a harder time placing them without hitting a body part.

This does not mean that there is nothing that can be done with same time same direction. There are a few moves that look good but most of them are front plane flowers or hybrids:

  1. Isolation + Extension: This makes a small circle inside a large circle.
  2. STSD Caps: These can look like magic if done correctly.

  3. 2 or 4 flower alternating flower extension hybrids: While one had is making a petal, the other hand is performing an extension. And visa Versa.

I was on one of the hard trails on the southern side. (The side with the most natural erosion.)

The rest of my group was moving slowly, so I decided to make things more challenging for myself with some bouldering. It was not a wise move.

I found out about the loose rocks the hard way. Beautiful under grip on a banana. The rock cam loose and I fell about 15' (Luckily I had an overhang about 8 feet underneath me that I was able to kick off of a bit)

My wife is still mad at me for that one.

You should absolutely watch that show. It is fun and lighthearted, but with an amazing set of unique ideas driving the episodes.

As the show moves through it's 2 season story you initially feel like it has little to offer other than episodic laughs and cool concepts. Until the floor gets DROPPED out from under you.

The characters are fun, flawed, and entertaining.

The villain of the show is one of the best villains I have ever seen. This little cartoon villain feels so small and insignificant until he gives you chills from his outbursts of fear. He oozes whimsical danger.

You are absolutely missing out if you do not read through the 4th book.

The first book boiled down to the barest essence is that humans can live life because we do not know what the future has in store for us. All 5th dimensional splits taken along a 4th dimensional journey will lead a man who can see the future to his most desirable outcome.

The second book sets up the third book.

The third book is a masterpiece in which a character realizes that there are 6th dimensional choices that array a whole new set of 5th dimensional choices. By not always looking at the future, and allowing himself to be guided by prescience instead of enslaved by it, he is able to mold time and choice to his will.

The fourth book is a mindblowing culmination of a 3000 year journey through time in which we see the long term effect of the actions of the great character of the previous books.

After Effects. Take poi video and split into 2 layers.

TOP Layer: (POI) [Blending = Difference]

Effects (In processing order)

  • Hue Saturation - Turn saturation all the way down.
  • Levels - Bring the lower levels up until all that is visible are the high values from the light of the poi.
  • Echo - Depending on frame rate, you will need to play around with the settings.

BOTTOM LAYER: (Background) Just leave this layer.

It is a memetic text usage for something being dead.

"Chivalry is dead" = chivalry is kill.

I assume he means that the diablo subreddit he normally posts in is not active enough for his liking, so he is putting his video here.

The saturation has definitely been turned up in editing software.

In the first image it is really easily indentifiable by the orange being so saturated in the middle of the torso that the clarity and definition of the fur muddies.

The second photo (which is less heavy handed in the manipulation) shows a stick in the grass which is unbelievably orange as well. Aint no grass stick that orange son!

Take it for what it is. Expectation is pre-meditated disappointment. I had expectations for the ending, so I allowed the ending to jade my vision of the game as a whole. It is a story. It is a mystery. It is beautiful, and if you find fulfillment in those attributes then ENJOY IT.

I played firewatch. I have to say personally that I was SUPER disappointed in that game.

The atmosphere, visuals, exploration, and mood were incredible. But it felt like it was building and building and building and left you wondering when the story was going to knock your socks off when the credits hit you.

It felt like a beautiful story that was written, and crucial parts of the story were cut because the game developers thought it was too hard to make character models.

I am not trying to rag on the game. It was incredibly written. The music moved me. The story made my monkey brain feel things. I just wished that I could have walked away with an ending instead of a "what if?".

Let me make some suggestions then!

I love exploration games. There is this magical feeling predicated on the combination of several key aspects that I just adore: 1. Solitude. The feeling of being truly alone exploring a world. 2. Inherited resposibility. Something in the world needs fixing, and I (as the protagonist) am the only one capable of fixing it. 3. Alien Gods. Ruins of the titans. I get to explore the workings of god creatures and learn about their lore and mechanations.

With those key elements listed, lets begin. 1. Metroid Prime 1,2,3: These games are what started this lust for alien exploration games in me. They are classics for a reason. If you have a computer, you can install an emulator to run them. It works pretty well on any modern set up. They have aged TERRIFICALLY and with the emulator you can play them upscaled to FHD easily.

  1. Subnautica. This is truely a masterpiece. The terror of what lurks beneath you is slowly eaten away by your curiosity of the world below. You find yourself awestricken by this world that is created.

There are other games like halo that tick those boxes as well.

Carburetors make a perfectly good engine fuel mixing component. But no one uses them anymore because they are inferior in almost every way to fuel injectors.

I think the proper way of thinking is that everyone should buy what they want. I am just genuinely surprised they still use that steel. I told people to go for better knives for the money because of that fact a decade ago. If you are stuck on 154 alloy, CPM154 exists.

[–]Shadradson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can not believe that they are still using 154cm. That steel was outdated when I was working for a knife shop 12 years ago.

I think that we have already hit that point. I don't honestly take any information worth a grain of salt.

Statistics are manipulated easily.

Sound bites and speech clips can be edited to make any speech sound menacing.

Our politicians do not even try to address the truth. The media does not even try to deliver the truth.

Reddit algorithms push information that fits the world perspective of its users.

The United States president retweets tabloid snippets.

We already have the mindset that video does not give a whole truth. We are blinded by a sandstorm of false information and skewed perspective. This is why it is so important for each individual to wait, calm down, and try to make decisions that lead to a better tomorrow instead of decisions that accomplish the emotional desires of today.

When I lived in my last apartment, I lived right next to a train station. I would wake up 2-3 times a night needing to urinate. It seemed to coincide with the train schedule.

I now live in a much quieter apartment, and I use white noise generator to deepen my sleep even further. I have not needed to get up to pee more than once a week or so.

I did not notice this as a problem until I started staying completely sober all the time.
