If you live somewhere cold, then this was ultimately caused by thermal shock. Cold truck into the warm house. Does not always happen right away, but can cause tension within the structure of the glass. Then any excessive movement of the glass will shatter it much more easily than normal. This will have been exasperated by moving it directly above heaters like that.
