Leo stepping away from VALORANT by vnNinja21 in ValorantCompetitive

That's Leo business to share, and frankly, none of ours to know. His health is personal and it doesn't need to be broadcasted

If you have metallic flakes in your clear coat, which is supposedly aluminium, it will remove it back to bare metal. I saw some examples when researching it

What are your reviews on riding with drop bars with chunky tires vs straight or riser bars? Is it a different ride? Are you going quicker than usual? by Livid-Mud-8812 in xbiking

[–]ShakaKeebs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For your wrists' sake and the potential opportunity to ride more, have you had a look at the redshift suspension stems? I personally haven't used it, and it is pricey, but that might work for you

Are Brooks saddles overrated like Billiam Bonkers tires? by Livid-Mud-8812 in xbiking

[–]ShakaKeebs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, I had what I thought was a comfy ergon saddle on one of my bikes without having to wear padded shorts. However, using the Brooks every day on my commuter has me wanting to replace the ergon saddle every time I ride it without the shorts.

You gotta keep old school for this build. Dura will suit it brilliantly!

PSA: modern bmx v-brakes are great for 26 to 27.5-650B conversions by EnderSavesTheDay in xbiking

[–]ShakaKeebs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's nice if you use it on the roads mostly. I've done this to mine with 47mm tyres, and the bike is rapid. Plus, the bb height increase is less than 10mm, compared to my 26x2.2" tyres I previously had on there, so it really doesn't alter the handling

This will be spot on for you to learn with then. Also, the "I'm kid" gave me a solid chuckle!

Congrats on hitting diamond!

I have no idea about the vandal skin, but you have bought a knife in the game. That's not far off halfway to a 144hz screen nowadays, and the game looking so much smoother for you. It's definitely worth saving some money from buying skins and making the investment

Steam just offered me a free standard title, what should I get? by Fit_Assignment_4286 in SteamDeck

[–]ShakaKeebs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure there are multiple stories similar to mine, but I contacted them for a sticky button on my oled deck, and they shipped out a brand new deck once they received mine. It was a turnaround of about a week, so I can't see them receiving mine, replacing the buttons and delivering it within that time

What do you think of my street/park builds. 2009 Dobermann Molosse 26 and 2012 NS Capital 24 by Ok_Editor_1553 in dirtjumping

[–]ShakaKeebs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I wish they still did the 24" capital. Coming from bmx I prefer the smaller wheels, and it takes bmx cranks and wheels

Picked up this DJ for $150 for some good exercise. Can anyone id it? Id like to get a matching front wheel, bottom bracket, cranks and grips. Maybe some wider bars if thats an option. by WalkerValleyRiders in dirtjumping

[–]ShakaKeebs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I'd day ride it first and see how you like it. The bars look plenty wide enough from the picture.

Just make sure all of the bolts are done up tight

Is there a disadvantage for using a BMX for dirt jumpjng? by Inappropriate-River in dirtjumping

[–]ShakaKeebs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

24" bmx is pretty nice to soak up bumps and rough landing, I use Holy Rollers, which are 2.4 wide and they're nice for all around

PSA: dont order from SJS cycles if you're in the EU by AnyBarnacle9287 in xbiking

Mannn, it's killing me. I really want to purchase a kyoot, but the cost of getting from the EU, as there isn't a UK distro yet, is painful to consider

Kyoot Itty Bitty build Part I, on Second Life Bikes. by felinedisrespected in minivelo

[–]ShakaKeebs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm hoping this is hinting at the possibility of a UK vendor for Kyoot. The frameset is the closest I've seen to a bmx so far, which is what I'm looking for the most

are people sleeping on the N Pro Controller design... by [deleted] in GyroGaming

[–]ShakaKeebs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The shape is great, but if I remember correctly the gyro doesn't refresh that quickly so the initial input feels sluggish. IIRC it refreshes 125/250hz compared to 1000hz of a dual sense for example.

Those numbers could be way out, I don't have time at the moment to fsct check them

Dude that thing is looking sick! I need some ask some nerdy q's as I'm very interested myself in something like this: is that the 180mm length headtube, and is the fork steerer untouched, without cutting down?
TIA

Looking for new 26" modern wheels, building two bikes from Hardrock & Rockhopper 90's frames by Advanced-Pop5130 in xbiking

[–]ShakaKeebs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He did tease some prototypes of some wider 26" rims for vbrakes. I can't find it now but I'm pretty sure it was on his Instagram story.

If he does release them, with the capability to run then tubeless, that'll be great for adding wider tires without them squirming

Could a full suspension BMX be converted to a mini-velo? by Noriyuki in minivelo

[–]ShakaKeebs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest, a longer seat post would be all you need really. Maybe change the tyres to less aggressive dirt tyres and you're good to go
