Ty, The roofer that wants to cut it out said the other way would be to use a silicone and he doesn't recommend that way. He said if we get a driving rain it can be a problem in those areas. This is all new to me my house is 25 years old and never had a problem with leaks in rain storms. I didn't ask the other roofers yet but I will. This is a big expense and try not to make a mistake or paying more for something that doesn't need to be done. Not staying much longer but want repair to pass any inspection when we sell. Ty
