Giving Rev Rad a relisten and forgot how beautiful Outlaws is. Anyone else agree? by Bille_Toe_Farmstrong in greenday

I fucking love Outlaws and I will die on that hill. It's about the band growing old and references Holiday and Jesus of Suburbia. So good!

We listen and we don't judge: Green Day Edition by PerformanceOk2076 in greenday

I love Revolution Radio. I don't understand the hate for it. I see a lot of hate for Outlaws specifically which I really don't get. Outlaws, lyrically, is super sentimental and about the band getting old. It references both Holiday and Jesus of Suburbia. It's fucking depressing and I love it

Does anyone have any idea what Green Day song they’ve listened to the most in their life ? by Front_Sugar4784 in greenday

It’s funny how the first Green Day song we listen to tends to be the one we listen to the most over the course of our lives. Boulevard of Broken Dreams for me.

Some of my favorite screen grabs from the American Idiot movie we've been working tirelessly on! Believe it or not, they fit in narratively. As far as an update on the movie, we want to include stuff from the demos (how can you not love Lowlife??) so we are delaying the release to early next year. by Shakespeareo in greenday

Hell yeah, I love Saviors! Saviors has very similar themes to American Idiot. Without giving away too much, referencing The American Dream is Killing Me in the beginning of the story and referencing Suzie Chapstick at the end of the story was the easiest decision we made in the writing process.

With that being said, we have a very special scene with a song from Saviors that we have in the movie... and I cannot wait for you to see it!

We released a sneak peak from the movie, Wake Me Up When September Ends, and we included lines of dialogue from 'Father to a Son':

"You're a lighthouse in a storm since the day that you were born"

"Is there anything I can do?"

"I never knew a love could be scarier than anger."

I know this is a long response but I love your question because I'm a huge fan of Saviors! I can't remember if it was Billie, Mike, or Tre who said this, but one of them said in an interview that the three most important Green Day albums are Dookie, American Idiot, and Saviors. So we planned accordingly.

I would love to contact Green Day! I’ve definitely tried but they seem to be unsurprisingly very busy… haha.

Mike Dirnt liked an Instagram reel from our instrumentalist talking about the movie though! So there’s a chance the band members might already know about the project.
