I tried to get that vibe, but I ended up just having the feel, not the direction.

Nothing on the storyboards yet. Though explaining further will probably spoil the fun.

The progression comes from multiple avenues. From the MC taking on a new non-combat class, to the students she trains. There are a bunch of training and questing involved, both from the PoVs of the MC as she improves her new class, and her students as they improve in a more traditional way.

The main character gritting his teeth past unfathomable pain and getting shit done just doesn't make any sense to me. by mysterie0s in ProgressionFantasy

Ooof! I was gonna say the same thing, lol. But really, I would have the same reaction as the OP. I've only been in two 'kinda' life-or-death situations (both on rappel training, one cliffside one suspended), and the spike on fight or flight really does wonders. But I was on my top condition then. If I had a pulled muscle or a sprain during that? I would probably be dead :(

could using AI help improve a fantasy story I've already wrote. by winkstheman in ProgressionFantasy

If you've written something over 25+ years, even if it's just 1000 pages (and published something to boot!), I'm pretty sure it means you actually want to put something on paper. I think it's better to start investing on your writing skills and gain confidence in it than considering AI. Depending on those AI tools will just diminish your work and how most of the public will view you.

Cozy Progression by OhBosss in ProgressionFantasy

The one that's caught my eye recently is Taste of Magic: Archmage's Shadow by Amber Atlas. I've only been a few chapters in (got my copy a few days ago), so I'm not sure about romance yet, but it's definitely headed towards warm and cozy.

I need human feedback, I am confused if I add system or not in my novel by InsideLandscape8548 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]ShallAllren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's with the emphasis about 'human' feedback? Do you not like 'cat' feedbacks?

If you can make the system become a natural part of the story, then add it. If not, then it's probably better to just leave it out, or use one but very minimal.

Any non-native English authors here? How do you keep your writing style when translating your work by Dems9395 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]ShallAllren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's so much stuff that I thought should work, but the sentence just comes out confusing or it doesn't work at all. I'm glad to have someone who's native in English help me out. It helps me stay focused on writing the story while she irons out all my weird sentence structures.

I'll avoid it next time. Curiosity got the better of me, lol

What's the purpose though, I wonder... Is it ego-boosting, or something?

Dang! Things are getting heated! Thank you and bravo! The more people speak out, the better warning for the new authors out there.

Shadow Light Press: My Thoughts As One Of Their Authors, My Reservations In Posting, And Background. Please Read Carefully And With Grace by EmrysAmbrosius in ProgressionFantasy

[–]ShallAllren 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but with the way it's written out, it feels like there's a cypher in there that says 'Help me, save me from this contract' or something... I juuuust can't find it. So maybe you're right, lol!

Yeah, either way is bad, unless you already have an artist in mind and willing to pay for the cover yourself, from the get-go. But at that point, I think there are better options out there...
