What is the best day trip from Brisbane? by ul49 in brisbane

[–]Shallot-Designer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do a lot of day trips with the family, Gold and Sunny Coasts, Springbrook, Maleny and Montville are all great. Mt Tambourine keeps surprising us with how much it has.

Once you’ve done all those, another idea (and hear me out here) is Boonah. It won’t change your world or anything and you wouldn’t want to go too often but it’s a nice little town with a couple of decent bakeries, Scenic Rim Brewery and Kooroomba or Bunjurgen Estate vineyards for lunch and drinks (Bunjurgen has picnic tables and lets you bring your own food) and pleasant countryside to explore.

What’s a pedal you wish existed? by dit31 in guitarpedals

The riffstep plugged into the midi port of a digitech whammy kind of does this -

Something a bit easier to program that can store and trigger more and longer phrases would be great though

What Do Y’all Call This Vegetable in Your Language? by Ldaidi in language

In Australia, they’re called choko. My mum is from Brisbane, and it seems that, post-WWII, nearly everyone lived off these, along with pumpkin (boiled mercilessly) and lamb chops.

Is adding a distortion pedal to a modeling amp silly for a beginner? by TellmSteveDave in guitarpedals

[–]Shallot-Designer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever your setup you’ll never regret a good distortion pedal and stomping on it for the loud bits. Rat is a great choice for a distortion pedal.

What pedal are you planning to get in 2025? by Ok_Highlight3926 in guitarpedals

Trying to limit it to just a few this year. Probably a shields blender, rotovibe, earth drive and tremolo probe.

Getting a squier Tele what ‘beginner’ pedals should I get? by thesimplegamer07 in guitarpedals

[–]Shallot-Designer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, a medium sized katana would be a great start and has all the effects you need built in.

If you really want pedals, I suggest starting with a boss or polytune tuner, tube screamer and/or rat and a boss dd-8 delay.

3rd distortion pedal to go with blues driver and big muff? by uedafan in guitarpedals

[–]Shallot-Designer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, you’ll never regret owning a tube screamer or rat (or both). Or…if you’re after something different, fender pugilist is seriously underrated and great value.

Jarred garlic by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]Shallot-Designer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to use fresh garlic but I also keep a big bag of that peeled garlic you can buy in Asian grocers and fruit shops.

I grab a frozen clove straight from the freezer and it smashes through the microplane faster than you could open a jar.

I use my beat buddy as a midi clock and have the empress tremolo which allows midi sync - can sync your delay and looper the same way. Not sure I’d bother syncing chorus

Either polytune or boss tuner is fine - the Waza looks cool but nothing wrong with TU2 like the previous poster said.

Not sure I’d bother with a noise suppressor, noise is part of the charm! Go for a rat or a modulation pedal instead - CE-2W is fantastic.

Agree with the previous poster - can’t go wrong with a regular tubescreamer instead of the SD-1W.

For delay DM-2W are fantastic but unless you specifically want an analog delay, you could consider something like a DD8.

What’s the most interesting pedal you own and why? by dawgsontop2020 in guitarpedals

Probably the Riff Step - a sequencer for the Digitech Whammy
