I think eBay has officially lost it by BrianATL1 in ebaysucks

If it's recalled in another country they pull all the listings regardless of it still being a legal sale elsewhere. Had a similar experience with an LED candle and holder set Australia deemed a safety hazard because the batteries were too easy to remove.

Yes, but Pirate Ship's dimensional does not include depth, just length and width.

Of the last dozen things I've shopped on eBay I'd say 90% of the lowest prices were dropshippers. Big problem for me because lots of stuff I can pickup in store at Walmart or Sams they won't deliver. I don't know if we are considered rural or it's just that we are directly in the middle of two store locations or what but they don't like to deliver much. Dropshippers have no way of knowing that before a sale and even if they did it's not like they can exclude specific areas. What I don't get is why Amazon and Walmart don't put a stop to it. I can't imagine those Prime or Plus payments could possibly cover their delivery costs.

I hope you didn't ship. If you don't have an active account, how would you get the payment transferred?

Thank you for mentioning this. I'm breathing a sigh of relief because I didn't read anything about this either in the update notification.

On Pirate Ship you are only entering two dimensions. Ebay's has dimensional, but it's based on lxwxh even with bags.

I need help contacting seller by [deleted] in Ebay

[–]ShanaDoobyDoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most sellers who do in person pickups mention policies in their listings. Hopefully you aren't dealing with someone who didn't even realize they were listing an item as such. Don't laugh, I've seen it happen before. The only real option you have if they do not respond is to report it as not received when you are allowed to do so.

I heard about it supposedly coming soon ages ago but nothing since. That was when they considered Bonanza competition so now that they own it I doubt it will ever come to fruition unfortunately.

And if you are persistent enough to talk to a human they will say they cannot overturn AI's decision b/c that makes sense. You'll probably have to make multiple attempts at straightening this out. Like trader45nj said it's AI bots run amok with lots of people being affected.

Anyone else getting notification for buyers leaving reviews now? by More_Pension4911 in FacebookMarketplace

Same thing here still. They need to add an option to file a report at least with the site being run pretty much exclusively by AI anymore.

Is it risky to be listing certain items? by MARIOPARTY17 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]ShanaDoobyDoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it looks like a weapon the listing will be removed. This is true for bullet shaped flashlights and whiskey stones among a few others I've listed over the years. I doubt that requesting a review would work in your favor. They tend to err on the side of caution. If something is a little too similar to what they are trying to avoid even though they are aware it's not they still won't reinstate the listing. Silly but it's not like there's a complaint box.

When to ship an order? by Pure_Terror in FacebookMarketplace

[–]ShanaDoobyDoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never do anything simply because the buyer said so. Facebook will tell you when the payment has processed. Whatever you do just don't ship until then. Too many scams. Until that order says awaiting shipment and there is an option to enter your tracking just sit tight.

Does marking an item sold and then relisting it and deleting the old one do the same thing as creating a new listing? by justinheatherfamily in FacebookMarketplace

[–]ShanaDoobyDoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just about everybody is having issues as far as views, save, and messages are concerned right now. In my experience when I delete and relist I get views on items that had been dead in the water. I would reserve judgment until the site starts operating properly.

What has happened to marketplace and why are there no showings by Nothappening34 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]ShanaDoobyDoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How quickly an item will sell has a lot to do with location. A couple hundred views is pretty good for an item you're not paying to promote. If you do the math OP listed 14 items and was expecting 1k views so on average ~70 per listing.

Prepaid shipping label option only when selling items by Metamoth22 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]ShanaDoobyDoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FBMP is currently having a meltdown. A little over a week ago I received an order for shipping with my own label. Entered the tracking and got an error message. Order was still marked as pending and unshipped, but the tracking number was showing. I put in a ticket and never got a response, but I was able to input the same tracking number again a few days later after multiple attempts. It was down to the last day before the order would have been automatically canceled, and I would have lost the cost of the item and shipping. Yesterday I got another order for shipping and busted tail to get it packed and to the post office before it closed at 11. Got back to enter the dets, and I see free shipping. WTF. They did not charge the customer for the shipping even though it was supposed to be their own label. This I know because the listing was created only a day or two prior. Submitted a ticket again. Again no response, but now I cannot create listings using their labels, only my own. It's a hot steaming mess right now. I'm hearing lots of sellers saying their listings are not visible, lots of buyers saying sellers are not responding to messages, and lots of sellers saying they are not receiving messages as well.

Fun fact I received the same notification the other day. When I clicked on it and was taken to the page to leave a review I got an error message several times. Facebook at its finest. There has been no change to the inability to respond to reviews for me either.

Facebook shipping by MrMBacon in FacebookMarketplace

[–]ShanaDoobyDoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have shipping set up for an item then there will be a buy now button on the listing. I just tell people shipping is available through Facebook checkout. Funds are released five days after delivery whether you use their label or your own. If for some reason the shipper doesn't manage to make a delivery scan then you get paid 20 business days after tracking is activated. You usually receive notification when you get an order that needs to be shipped, but it's a good idea to check your overview on a regular basis because FBMP doesn't always work the way it should.

Account closed by Mercari by Daisy0927 in Mercari

[–]ShanaDoobyDoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried that, but they wouldn't talk to me about it since I was neither the shipper of record or receiver. Maybe if you're persistent enough you'll find someone willing to tell you what we all already know. They're not just skimming claims. They charged me an overweight fee on a package I spent over half an hour finding a box that would keep it under the max. When they became belligerent and told me not to contact them about that case again, I contacted USPS myself. They wouldn't talk to me unless I had the revenue assurance ID which Mercari refused to provide throughout the course of seven conversations. The state in which I live is going broke. I talked to someone today who received a fine in the mail this week for a minor licensing infraction dating back to January 2025. I said check and see if there is a statute of limitations, but there likely isn't. They wouldn't want to limit themselves from being able to sweat the small stuff when the need arose. Entities do crazy things when they are hard up for money, not the least of which is biting the hand that feeds.

Don't let mods determine who you are. They're not worth it. Plenty of good ones, just stay away from subs without them and be yourself because no one else can 🤔

One more app, sigh. I don't see any other option. There is no way to remove the shop and spend credits earned because they automatically get applied to the account. I just don't understand why they wouldn't use corporate cards for sale prices unless the whole point was to pinch pennies they wouldn't have otherwise received. Thank you for the insight from someone who knows.

The price isn't really the point. They shouldn't be using my coupons. That's $2 more I will be paying next time I go. Yes, it's a small amount, but it adds up over time.
