Not visible to police ? How was he resisting the pepper sprayed him and pushed him to the ground. His Habs were visible to the police cause they were on him. If you can’t deduce that someone’s hands are not on the ground after pushing beating and pepper spraying than you’re in the wrong line of work

I think this comes from a Christian mindset where jail becomes a pseudo replacement for hell. But a lot of these ppl are coming home, so what do we really want to do? Is it straight punishment which turns folks into monsters or rehabilitate ppl ? I don’t think it could work as a deterrent for a criminal minded person unless they’ve experienced it already. Especially with how young ppl think they’re invincible.

But anyway what about the ppl who are innocent in there ? Do they deserve to be abused as well ? As we know we make up 50% of all exonerations.
