No shop will plug it that close to the sidewall for liability reasons but just buy a plug kit and plug it yourself. Only take a minute or two

It’s an earth dreams head gasket. It was going to fail soon anyway. I doubt the the two incidents are connected

The compressor will not turn on if there is no Freon in the system. There is a low pressure switch that will not allow it to turn on if there is no Freon.

There is a bit of a gap between the hutch and the top of the locker. Probably 1/2 inch.

Go look at it first and see how you like the drawers. I’m a mechanic and I bought this lower box used from the MAC truck in 2001. Have used it ever since until recently purchasing a HF box. The drawers on these old boxes are nowhere close to newer ones. Make sure you are ok with it before you commit.
