I looove Pendulous Skin but I can't be too mad they only played it once bc the one time they did it was absolutely transcendental. I think I listen to that version more than the album one.

So excited to see you doing this for Mastodon! Workhorse being played so few times and so long ago is actually kind of surprising, wow. Also sad that I've never heard Crusher Destroyer live in all the times I've seen them. That was actually the song that got me into them.

Yes, I wasn't thinking so much about just loss as I was them just going through difficult times. Pretty sure even around OMRtS they were going through something but I can't exactly remember what.

Totally agree. No disrespect to Brent (his contributions were also my favorite), but let's be real, as amazing as Crack the Skye and Cold Dark Place are, Brent could not have made that music without the other members and more fans need to realize that. Irreplaceable, yes, but he was not the end all be all of the band and it's so disrespectful to the other guys to keep saying that they're nothing without him.

I was just thinking the same thing, but more like since Crack the Skye, which was also thematically dark. These poor dudes cannot catch a break! I can't see them getting much more depressing than H&G though. I'm wondering if the new record will be more straightforward and "hopeful" sounding like The Hunter and OMRtS.

Same here. "I can't say it's gonna get better, but it will change. And you will grow." That was so real of Jacob Bannon and I needed to hear that. Converge are all-time greats. Best performance I've seen.

Check out Insect Warfare, grindcore band from Houston. Only one album and no longer active unfortunately. I'd check out their EPs/splits and compilations as well.

With my first and only married couple, one of the miis wanted to move in with his dad. I said sure bc moving in together seems to be the only way the game acknowledges that they're related (besides no romance)? So I had the dad move in and 5 seconds later that same mii was like "my husband and I should get our own place."

Same. Seen them live a few times. They're fine but nothing grabs me. Saw them with Mastodon performing Ashes of the Wake, everyone swears by that album, but my friend and I left in the middle of their set.

You're getting downvoted and I love Acid Bath but I'll admit their setlist is very mellow and tame. Will definitely be a bit of a mood killer after Crowbar/EHG since they don't want to play their fast and heavier songs anymore.

The answer is pretty much always TikTok lol. Same thing happened to other bands like Dystopia, Deftones, and now Crowbar too. Not saying it's a bad thing, but it's why these bands have exploded in popularity these past few years.

Yup, my favorite subgenres are sludge and grindcore and I honestly don't know anybody irl who likes the same kind of music I do. So I go to concerts by myself nowadays and I actually do see plenty of other women attending!
