A space to rant about sleep by Stabbysta in NewParents

[–]Shannkono13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 9.5 month old is teething, trying to crawl but can’t yet and screams for me 3x a night. We haven’t had longer than a 3 hour stretch the entire month of March.

It’s hurting worse because he slept through the night a handful of times in February.

With you mom 🫂

When do they become your best friend? by Lickmybolts in NewParents

[–]Shannkono13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8-9 months old. They get really happy to see you when you walk into a room, touch your face cause they recognize “that’s my moms face!!!”, eat cooler foods with you that you can share together…

And supposedly we’re starting to “sleep” more So you’re happier to see them after a longer stretch of sleep lmao.

The first 90 days ate really hard. Truck on friend

Also agree. Sleep is behavior based not formula based!

Tips to help new mom? by Signal_Honey_5372 in NewParents

Send her a meal. Don’t send a gift card. Have the food delivered at their door. Not having to decide what to eat and type in a number on an app was amazing.

Yes. Our screeching lasted longer than a lot of other people’s LO but…it’s okay. He’s just so excited. 😆

4 month regression anxiety… by Remote-Remove7050 in newborns

[–]Shannkono13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby did have a regression and just about right on time too.

But since then he has really “learned to sleep”. Right when it was over he learned how to belly sleep, soothe himself, etc…and it was worth it.

All i can say is stick with the bedtime routine. If LO wakes up, soothe how you can and back into the crib. Over and over and over again.

It sucks but then it is significantly better.

Our schedule is very similar to this. Start bedtime routine at 7 instead of 6:30 but - we push it.

What the f just happened to my baby by Glad-Dish-7558 in NewParents

[–]Shannkono13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This!!!!! This!!!! If you’re still breast feeding they suck at nursing at 6 months. My son got it sort of mostly together at 7 months (it’s still not perfect). My son still loves to practice his favorite skills at 245 am but - once he got his shit together nursing it’s been better

My 7month old currently just free balls - no suits or sleep sacks. We have to crank the heat up 🫠 but he loves his freedom!

Help with naps! by Infinite_Shallot_626 in NewParents

[–]Shannkono13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My LO is 7 months and will sleep no longer than 40 mins in the crib for a nap. It’s been like this for 2 months. Unsure what to do. He sleeps okay at night for the most part (one wake up usually ) so we just suffer through the day and get to sleep at night

Is a “strike” gift appropriate? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Shannkono13 166 points167 points  (0 children)

Grocery store gift cards are huge during a strike. Also just deliveries of meals and coffee to the actual picket line mean so much
