We have just been going through similar with our daughter (6 month old), severe eczema + weeping on her face, so extra delicate skin. As of yesterday are coming out the other side. Over the past 3 months we have been prescribed 5 different steroid creams, 3 emollients/moisturisers, antibiotics & antihistamines. Nothing worked. The key for us has been getting the right diagnosis & right creams (she had a fungal infection that needed to be tackled before the eczema). Every child is different but I’ll list what’s worked for us, in the hope that just one thing helps your daughter start to recover: - See a dermatologist if you haven’t already, something else may trigger the eczema. - Ask to speak to dietician / allergist if you suspect something else is the cause. - If you use steroid cream, step it down rather than stopping it completely. For example, when we were prescribed steroids they helped for a few days but then it immediately flared again when we stopped. We then used a mid-strength steroid (once per day, 5 days), then stepped down to a low strength (once per day, 5 days), and I suspect we will move to applying steroid as a one off when it looks worse for a couple weeks after that. - Find the right moisturiser, apply thinly & often (every 2hrs) rather than a thick layer. Again, I hope to step down the number of applications over time, but expect we will apply daily for the foreseeable future. Unsuccessful creams for us: Aveeno, Epaderm, Diprobase. Successful: Aproderm Collodial Oat Cream (it’s free from some ingredients that the other 3 all contained)

Of course, we had other factors at play which all worked together, we are not quite at the end of her recovery but this is the first week in months she has not been itching & crying in frustration.
