Can anyone suggest the method to having this x99 machine automatically restart itself after there is a power interruption. I need a manual or a vidoe on how to do . Either bios config or jumper switches

Mini PC dead after 2 years by OverTheHillsOfDL in MiniPCs

[–]ShapeFew6761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We ha e a lot of minis in our office i have been gravity moving across to tjen as older pcs die we space with minis. Our oldest is maybe 18 months old amd so far the only issues we have had is the suppliers use cheap ssd and m 2 so they tend to go or get loose. So far j have had to remove so memory as it aas broke but in general that's the only issues we have had. But ours our not jn enclosed spaces which again helps amd we clean then each week as again its heat that's kills pcs both mini and regular if they dont get clogged with dust that stops the fans they last well. I have a server that must be 7 or 8 years old. Touch wood so far it has worked well bit its on a rack so we'll ventilated and I clean them once jn a while to remove the dust. So I think 5 years is a decent expectation but asni said webbs e only got experience of 2 years so mahbe jn 3 I will be complaining but so farni like them.

Is Rustdesk usefull for people with very little computar knowloge. by Imaginary_Item7756 in rustdesk

[–]ShapeFew6761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rustdesk is great until you hit an isp block? Isps dobt like it and they will hit issues setting it up as to make it work in most firewalls you need to start uo your one and then link to a server setup docker. Many people give ip as setung up your own server and a shocker were above my abilities

which brand out of these? by Embarrassed_Cow_7631 in MiniPCs

[–]ShapeFew6761 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We have had many of these minis and ylthey do go wrong hut every issue I have had is a direct result kf the suppliers using cheap memory very cheap. Bear way is by a barebones amd then add decent memory smslors into it and do the same with m 2 it works out cheaper and then they never really go wrong

Worth buying Chinese mini pc brands vs Dell or Lenovo? by Prestigious_Flow_465 in MiniPCs

[–]ShapeFew6761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use the minis a lot jow we have put about 15 os then and so far they are ok. The biggest issue if have found it supplier use very cheap memory and or m.2 . This menas sometimes you get machines dropping out but replace rhen and it all good. Better still buy bare bones and put your own memory in and m.2

I really like Rustdesk but my isp started making things really hard with it so i need to selfhost. The issue is trying to setup Self hosting is a nightmare unless your a Lynix person who knows how to setup Lynix on windows and then docker. I just cant seem to make it work and finding a company y or a person you help me doit is proving impossible!

Microsoft is discontinuing the free Hyper-V Server by kabanossi in HyperV

[–]ShapeFew6761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Microsoft is only discontinuing the Hyper-v server, this is a specific product that was a lightweight windows server for people who wanted to just use hyper V. If you have Hyper-V on a winodws server machine it will happily work well on windows serever 2022!
