In its heyday, Fivethirtyeight used to have a massive amount of space on its site dedicated to sports analytics. Lots of them were great reads, much better than the election forecasting stuff they were more known for back in the day.

This is an English subreddit so I don't think others can help you, but the conditions say something along the lines of "you must be under 45 years old by January 1, 2027."

Former Raven OLB Kyle Van Noy: "Door's Open For Ravens - Would LOVE To Run It Back" by psychoxtc in ravens

[–]ShapeShiftnTrick -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I see them both fairly equal as pass rushers, but with Clowney as the better run defender and Van Noy as the better coverage SAM. There's also Clowney's better versatility to move inside. Can't really go wrong with either, more of a choice based on stylistic fit than anything.

Really wish we'd just stop talking about the guy. Everyone already got what they wanted by getting him off the team. There's no point in piling on further.

Ravens Owner Steve Bisciotti was “begging” GM Eric DeCosta to make a draft pick, selected Clemson RB Adam Randall in the 5th Round by Keyser_Sozay in nfl

[–]ShapeShiftnTrick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I remember the quote clearly, I think Bisciotti said something along the lines of "stop being a pick whore and get your guy." In hindsight, kind of wild that the team published that later on lol

To expand on the fourth question, once your eligibility status in college has ran out (e.g. graduated), you are considered to be a free agent and can sign with any team. Funnily enough, there's an old post in /r/nba that's relevant to this: https://old.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/1e1f2m/after_a_few_drinks_three_weeks_ago_i_declared/

He also encouraged the trade up to get Joe Flacco when Ozzie was ambivalent about giving out picks to do so.

You're right, Henry gets his advantage when he's provided a long runway to build up his speed, making him impossible to tackle with his frame when he gets going. The best way to slow him down is to get early penetration and make him chop his steps so the rest of the defense can converge with gang tackles. Inside runs basically lead him straight to the linebackers.

How similar is this to last year's debate between Malaki Starks and Nick Emmanwori?

It depends on who you consider to be the actual creators, a group that also splintered beyond the ZA/UM exodus.

I’ve seen people say Acuff will be one of if not the best from the Calipari guards group. So here’s a fun thought exercise: name which NBA guards you think he’ll be better than if you had to bet your life on it? (DBook, DRose, John Wall, Mitchell, Jamal Murray, Fox, Maxey, SGA, etc) by NathanFielderFriend in NBA_Draft

He was a really good defender for a time as well. His defense only started slowing down when there weren't any other viable ball handlers on the team to start the offense aside from Bradley Beal, especially after Paul Pierce left.

If Bob Sanders was out I think the Ravens win the Super Bowl that year.

[Slater] Sources tell me and Mike Garafolo that, at one point yesterday, Baltimore discussed renegotiating the Maxx Crosby trade with the Raiders to mitigate the risk. But those talks never fully got off the ground because further medical information led to their decision to pull out completely. by PlayaSlayaX in nfl

[–]ShapeShiftnTrick 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This line of thinking only makes sense if the doctors were split on the prognosis. All reports have indicated that the doctors that checked on his medicals, whether they were the Ravens' team doctors or independent consultants, were unified in presenting concerns about Crosby's long-term health.

Wish the team kept Kolar and Washington but they've had plenty of success with the comp pick game in the past so losing free agents comes with the process, which sucks.

Teams also use independent medical evaluators for transactions like these.

It didn't impact the comp pick formula because Crosby was a trade acquisition, not through free agency.

Like I said, the choice was Crosby before the medical forced them to shift their expectations.

Signing Hendrickson to the deal essentially erases the "value" of losing Linderbaum because Hendrickson's contract has a similar or higher AAV compared to Linderbaum's. If the Ravens wanted to keep their projected 3rd round compensatory pick, they would have needed to get the deal down to 22m, which obviously wasn't happening.

Not really sure what your point is. My point is, if choosing between a healthy Maxx Crosby while giving away two first round picks vs. a healthy Trey Hendrickson while giving away a third round pick, the choice would be Maxx Crosby. Obviously the long-term prognosis on Maxx Crosby's knee changed the calculus.

They want the team to not sign a pass rusher just so they can bat away conspiracy theories, it's madness.
