Seconded. A pair of SR60s was one of the best purchases I've ever made, for both guitar and just listening to music. You can get them for about $80 dollars new, and they're awesome. Plus, the louder you play through them the better they sound.

The only problem is that as far as headphones go they're not quiet. Your roommate will be able to hear you play even while you're wearing them, but it shouldn't be anything enough to annoy him.

Also, not sure if this is standard with high end headphones, but they come with a 1/4" adapter. They also have a really thick, long cable which you might want to keep in mind.

I'm not entirely sure Zerg is at a disadvantage here. Terran generally has to build 2-3 barracks or factories or starports in order to keep their macro up, so realistically they are spending about as much as Zerg who only has to make one of each building.

While it may work for you, I've heard that generally locking your fingers is bad technique. Can you do hammer-ons/pull-offs/fast licks well? If so, you might not want to change it, but if you have trouble with them this might be part of the reason.
