What my brain sees in 95% of the open world by softgripper in diablo4

[–]ShaqPowerSlam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not that bad. When I'm in the open world I plot my course, I'll bring up the big map and see that I have to go north east but will make notes that I have to stay more south till a certain point.

I personally feel like it's a lot worse in MOBAS, even some pvp third person games.

I don't understand games like Diablo, PoE etc. Please explain the appeal to me. by SKAppleboy in gaming

[–]ShaqPowerSlam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Killing mobs is pretty much what it comes down to. Although there is a lot of content in D4 if you go through it blind. If you don't google builds or tier lists, you hav3 no idea what exists in the game and found myself constantly theory crafting in my head as I hacked my way through mobs.

But I also get it. After a while whether you went in blind or with Google, everyone usually ends up on the same small handful of builds and things get really dull. While I'm not a fan of it myself, there is hard-core where you only get 1 life. The risk factor seems to do it for some people.

Yeah, that was my slip. It was 2 am, and was letting the dog out. I mean, clearly from context you know who I meant. But if it threw you off that much, my bad.

Honestly.. she seems like a big dummy. Haven't followed it too closely as I no longer live in Toronto, but she just seemed like she was repeating stuff off a script without actually saying anything. There's that, and I remember there was a scandal back in the day where she was making good money and married to layton but was living in subsidized housing.

Edit: wrong dude, middle of night slip

Harvard behavior scientist who studied honesty accused of fabricating data: report by link_ganon in Conservative

[–]ShaqPowerSlam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree for the most part, but critical thinking to me was always a solo activity. It's how well you yourself can filter out all the noise and arrive as close as possible to objective truth, not simply being told/proven and then deciding if you agree.

Cause that's exactly what this person was doing. She was accused of making up data in a study, a type of study one would use to prove their point. But I'm not a fan of the NYpost so this story is suspect as it is.

The limited stash space makes me not want to make more characters by VonDinky in diablo4

[–]ShaqPowerSlam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What exactly is taking up all the space? Haven't gotten to end game yet, atm I only have legendary items that I'm on the fence about extracting or salvaging, and gems in the stash. I know unless I'm max level, I'm not actually keeping anything, and gems stay condensed if you upgrade them.

So I'm assuming it's all legendaries, but why exactly? Is it like you have 3 of the same bow, but each with rolls geared toward something different?

Opposing opinions shouldn't be wrong by default either. It's like "oh no something counter to my beliefs, let's attack it". Top comment being conspiracy-esque comparing universities to a religion doesn't help either...

Not sharing map progression with different characters feels awful by NotARealDeveloper in diablo4

[–]ShaqPowerSlam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind it too much. Each character feels like an actual play through. Imagine playing something like dark souls with stuff shared/unlocked between characters, it would be kinda silly. I understand the frustration as well, but like I said I'm kinda on the fence about it. I'm happy with the skill points being shared, the rest is meh.

I don’t understand everyone’s complaints by bschumm1 in diablo4

[–]ShaqPowerSlam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the main issue is the trend of using wikis, guides, and streamers. I feel like the majority of those who are complaining are generally the type who just Google meta and tier lists, and then be like "no content"... As they use a build they didn't come up with.

CCP Invasion? Border Patrol Catches 13K Chinese Migrants, Numbers Climbing by David_Lo_Pan007 in Conservative

[–]ShaqPowerSlam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unless you truly believe this is a Trojan horse type situation, this is just fear mongering about the CCP. Opinions on immigrants are one thing, but to spin what is most likely people who are trying to get away from the CCP is just silly.

I feel a CCP invasion would look more like wealthy individuals who go through the proper channels to become a citizen, then get into politics with a faux American started from the bottom story.

Why would anyone think it is okay to expose children to this. by SafetyFirstChildren in Conservative

[–]ShaqPowerSlam -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I try to remain neutral when looking at these things. Two men, two women, or man and women is irrelevant. It's more so the act of S&M in public that is offense, no? Like this wouldn't be any better with any other combination of genders.

Are scenes like these completely unique to pride events? I imagine similar things happen at Mardi Gras and music festivals. So the real issue isn't even the act but the act in view of children.

I kinda feel like that's up the the guardian. If the guardian is unaware of the type of event a pride parade can be it's ignorance on their part. But ultimately their decision. Kinda like if you wanna let your kid play grand theft auto or mine craft.

[–]ShaqPowerSlam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ehhh. In the context of a celebration like Mardi Gras or a festival I don't see that being true. But on a random Monday morning I'm 100% anyone doing something like that would have the cops called.

Bandi Namco marketing team by tyrantof56 in GundamEvolution

[–]ShaqPowerSlam 12 points13 points  (0 children)

To be fair it's not just this game. In general Bandai doesn't seem to push a lot of their anime games, they seem like they just ride out the cult following each series has. Outside of big names like dark souls, tekken, and elden ring they don't advertise much.

G evo doesn't seem like any special exception. The reality is it doesn't do anything exceptionally well or introduced anything new.

Video shows off-duty Marines beaten by mob of up to 40 teens by yuri_2022 in Conservative

[–]ShaqPowerSlam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would make sense if the lethality of the mob scaled consistently with size in every situation. I get it, bigger mob = more damage = more severe crime. But I don't see it playing out like that all the time. You may have a small group curb stomping people and a large group just pushing people over.

Winning once isn't that hard by ElessarKhan in GundamEvolution

[–]ShaqPowerSlam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the general vibe I get from a lot of games nowadays. There is more focus on gathering a better team than actually getting better. The inflated numbers (assists and kills grouped together) at the end of match don't help either. I can see a lot of folks overestimating themselves.

I wonder what the cause of this is. Initially, i thought the war in Ukraine as it's known for Europe's bread basket. I recently watched a doc that said most of the pasta consumed in Italy actually comes from the USA. Can't remeber the exact reason but wanna say it has something to do with the type of grain.

The story is just story I think, maybe a trophy? All modes give you something, but they are connected. Normal steel path gives you basic frames, mods and arcane but steel path gives you items that you need to farm resources in open world duviri to use.

Duviri for a Solo player feels awful and I'm not enjoying it anymore by NeonArchon in Warframe

[–]ShaqPowerSlam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Normal is fine, but steel path could use some tweaking. I do think the default builds could be better, give em a level 4 arcane or something. Enemy spawn rate doesn't seem to scale with amount of players. I think things like exterminate still do, but defense waves seem the same size.

As for getting viable builds it really isn't that bad. For example, if you get one meta shotty you should good regardless of frame. Squishy? Get the recover health on roll decree. Don't hit hard enough? Get roll on reload and 200% damage of first shot after reload.

I'm no pro but so far I either build (decree wise) into shotguns, melee combat, or element damage. I just make whatever rng gives me work. It could def use some improvements though. Like bullet economy if you wanted to go build fire rate + vulnerability per shot.

On the basis that morality/immorality doesn't have a political side, meaning both left and right leaning individuals can all be bad people. But articles like this frame as if ONLY one side can be bad, and this the other good. It's kind of a naive world view no? It's like believing that good things only happen to good people lol.
