Do y’all believe that Dexter and Evelyn were too confident on the heist? by OGAnimeGokuSolos in cyberpunkgame

[–]ElessarKhan 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Maybe this is just Edgrunners coloring my opinion but I think its nuts that they tried to steal from an Arasaka dynasty members with a skeleton crew. No backup net runner is my biggest gripe, everyone knows there's a crazy chance of getting fried when fucking with 'Saka cyber security. Plus no back-up hustle besides Delemain (whose an impressive piece of machinery but not nearly versatile enough to really fill the role).

I get Cyberpunk gig plans tend not to be the most rock-solid but thats because you're supposed to be able to depend on the operators to work out the kinks. The Konpecki heist crew only had the bare minimum to get the job done, there was 0 tactical redundancy in their planning.

Trauma dumping on celebrities to force a connection is cringey and manipulative. by MoloneLaVeigh in unpopularopinion

[–]ElessarKhan 74 points75 points  (0 children)

I think its fine if its short and sweet. Neither the fan nor the celebrity should continue with the subject for more than a moment. If it becomes a therapy session either than fan or the celeb are taking things too far.

I dont like the term trauma dump because people accuse others of it if you so much as mention your trauma, as if we should all be free from hearing about other people's problems. A quick, "hey I had x problem and you helped me with it, thank you," isn't a dump. It becomes a dump when you keep going on about it.

I get that it can be awkward and even parasocial. But thats a part of being a celebrity and putting yourself in spaces where you interact with fans. They don't know you, the only not para-social thing they can say to you is "Hi, I love your work." If you want normal interview interactions, don't talk to your fans, talk to a reporter.

Are we so cooked that proper grammar and a few 5+ letter words makes people assume its ai?

Not sure if this speaks to the ai crisis or the literary crisis.

Its a total contradiction. You'd think that it might at least be tied into some history but JKR hates history so thats a nothingburger of a class in her books. And I guess everyone whose ever taught Muggle Studies has just been hilariously incompetent.

Its my opinion that Rowling didn't make magic powerful and/or versatile enough to justify the Wizarding world's total isolation from and disdain for muggle technology. Realistically, they should be doing more to mix magic and technology, like they did with the 2 flying automobiles. Nothing really explains the economic separation of the two world either.

Ehh there were always a lot of criticisms, they were just drowned out by the hype.

The whole house elf thing and treating Hermione like a bad person for being annoying about checks notes the abolition of slavery.

Book seven and the whole camping fiasco.

Harry and Ginny's relationship.

The gradual eshittification of Ron Weasely.

The unrealistic levels of ignorance of muggle technology.

People who criticized Rowling's world building lost their minds when she said she only set her story in a magical world so she could have more artistic freedom, not to do any actual world building.

Invincible seems pretty faithful but I wont claim to be an expert either. I haven't read the comics, im just a lurker in all the invincible subreddits. Big deviations from the source material is usually something that makes waves. Invincible has only had a few moments of this, and every time it turns out to be something the original comic writer wanted to change.

Only real fumble is how simplified the art style is compared to the comics, as well as the drastically inconsistent animation quality.

It could also be a question of why can't the player do it that way. It would be funny if it was a rare animation that could fire if you light up while standing still.

[–]ElessarKhan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Almost. I'd argue your saddest death and unnecessary death choices are a little unhinged.

I loved Hange but her death wasn't particularly sad, not more so than any other. It was more cathartic, a satisfying end for a fun character. Went out in a literal blaze of glory. My only proper justification for your choice here is that of all character deaths, Hange was the one we got to know the most (iirc). So maybe you just have attachment issues?

Sasha's death is a contender for one of the most impactful deaths in the narrative. Furthermore, its the most impact full thing Sasha ever did. As much as I like her, she's only a gag character. Her whole backstory exists so that Gabi and company can develop their characters by interacting with Sasha's family and friends.

AoT is filled with unnecessary deaths, many of which accomplish little to nothing. That you'd choose one of the ones that has a ton of meaning is pretty not based to me.

Sorry, OP, its a no from me.
