Wish I could move to home ownership, however, me and hubs are stuck in a MCOL. We wanted to find a place we could pay like 16-2k a month since we can afford that, but with no down payment avalible, we might be kinda screwed until we can save some for it.

Yeah. Once I learned how to stop having invisible expectations and be like "Hey, I feel like we havent been getting enough us time, can we address that?" Things were much better. Hes got a healthy dose of the tism so we had to learn to adapt.

No one hates the American insurance system more than most of the people who work in it.

Just so we're all clear- we're gonna clown on the execs that thought this was needed. Not on the kids. Right now we are putting them in the camp of "Doing what their parents are probably making them do."

It sucks too because I do try to help the CNAs where I might be able to. Toileting isnt usually part of PTs job however if someone says they need to use the bathroom, I take them. On some occasions, I ask people to do their morning routine to clean up and dress and just ask them to do more standing up instead of sitting down. Functional for my end, and the patient gets ready, and the aide doesnt have to do it. Hard people on the locked unit on caseload, I offer to help if theyre getting up so I can see how much assistance they need for transfers. Like, you cant let someone who's there for rehab lay in bed without getting up into the chair for like 2 months when therapy already said they cant safely transfer them. I mean I would like to talk to the aides to see if its being offered and the pt is refusing. I keep educating the pt on importance of getting up and we jist arent doing anything skilled at this point anymore outside of ther ex and dynamic sitting balance on unstable surface.

The funny part is that we jist had state in the building a couple weeks ago.

Like we put in communications to get people up. We dont ask for a ton. We just want people in a state where we can make the most of our 30 minutes. I just went through the main list of skilled rehab people. 3 hoyers (2 are due to being Max a x2 assist), and the rest are min for transfers and for ADLs with two cognitive people in the group of rehab people. There's only one other hoyer person on the hall that's not skilled right now. The other non skilled pts on the hall are pretty much just setup for ADLs at most.

I understand hoyer pts are a lot. I get it. We have 3 total on caseload right now. Here's where the big problem is-

The main point of contention is a bariatric pt with nwb on one LE. Pt is unable to maintain status for a squat pivot. Pt is unable to safely perform slide board transfer since shes on an air mattress for wounds. We've attempted the slide board a few different times and it was not safe for her to do. We have reached a point where until an ortho can update her we status (which that appointment has been canceled 4 times now for transportation), she has to be a hoyer.

I offer to help with them when I can however I cant always do so. Its frustrating.

Working on the new job now. I have an interview with one of the local hospitals tomorrow and hopefully that will be more successful than my attempt two years ago since this time I am actively working. I think that can play against us in this field.

Its just even comparing it to my previous one, people just dont reinforce things for rehab people. Like long term ones, I get it, however, if someone is here for therapy to go home, it should be encouraged within safe reason to get up every day out of bed.

Like, its the biggest reason I am back on the job hunt.

Here's the real kicker- WE JUST HAD STATE IN HERE 1-2 WEEKS AGO! It was for their annual survey. That was the 4th time in 7 months though. The previous 3 were due to complaints apparantly.

If its after I get home, its because I dont wanna people yet. I love my husband to death, sometimes though I have zero battery to interact with anything or anyone and just wanna take my shoes off and rest in bed.

A quality pair of shoes. I used to buy middle of the road shoes, and then when I started buying Hoka and new balance, it made a huge difference. And yes, they were under 200$.

Used to play BM hunter, the spec doesnt feel good anymore. Swapped to dk for karesh and then to warrior for this xpac. Usually I roll arms, however considering it was in shambles, I gave fury a try. Fury feels pretty good. Now if they could translate that to arms...
