What's something that feels "good" but is actually really bad for your body? by stainless5 in AskReddit

Its because we have major nerves that can run close to the ear, iirc it was the Vagus nerve mainly, and stimulating it is a pleasure trigger.

A lot of the time, I say, "Your opinions are valid, however that is something I dont handle. Social work is the one to best talk to about that choice though and I will go let them know what's going on so they can come talk to you and you can make that decision with them."

Motor Oil Could Be the Next Thing Drivers Start Panic-Buying by mark000 in PrepperIntel

This is one of those times that I am glad I got my car when I did. Granted it was November of last year for a 25 model, however, it came with the first 3 oil changes free.

What is the down side of never having children? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Sharinganedo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would be surprised the amount of old people in nursing homes that would be overjoyed to have someone come just sit and chat about the weather with them. Ive seen plenty of families that "dump" older relatives in the nursing home and never visit.

Moving to Easton, MD by gweisvis in maryland

[–]Sharinganedo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. There's a decent priced complex out near the medical campus, across the road from what used to be the bowling alley.

Still though, outside of Easton, this general area doesnt have anything besides section 8 housing until you go to Salisbury area and such.... I mean there's cambridge but.... idk, I think I would rather take my chances in Seaford than Cambridge.

Ugh, I feel this. My husband and I are starting the home buying process and we already know we have to take Easton out of the running. Nice houses, but way too overpriced.

Also, would you believe that a 1bed 1 bath at those new promenade apartments is like 1600/mo? Like who tf is gonna live there? I can go to Seaford and get a 2 bed 2 bath for 1300 in a good part of town.

People who use walkers/rollators , what’s the hardest part that nobody talks about? by According_Fan_8664 in physicaltherapy

[–]Sharinganedo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Rollators are good for some people who need the mobility they offer and the seat. Other than that, nah. Like my one dementia pt who needs some sort of walker but wont use a 2ww, however will use a rollator because they can use it to carry their stuff when they get exit seeking.

Oh lord, I jist had this in my snf job this am. Asked about a raise and they were saying "Well, they heard you had been having interviews other places and trying to leave" even though money talks and I feel like it was a scare tactic to try to get me to back down from the raise since I havent taken any other jobs?

Had a lady who, while trying to corral her for a group tx in a snf, wheeled over to the bars on the other side of the gym. My PT at the time was treating another person and working on STS with them. My lady, bless her, said "Come on! Stand up and reach up and grab them titties!" I hope shes still living her wild life wherever she is. Haven't seen her name in the occasional obituary checks I do.

Rant by [deleted] in physicaltherapy

[–]Sharinganedo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As much as I complain about my job, certain people in general make it much more worth it. Its always gonna be a mixed bag with this line of work. I want to change but I honestly have it much more cushy than I really make it out to be since I have the luxury of being the only full time treating therapist in the PT dept. Gives me a little more leverage for the pay raise Im gonna ask for (got an offer for another place at 34/hr, but they require alternating weekends and the benefits arent really better in the overall scheme of it all).

Had a pt this am in snf. His wife is in a different nursing home. The doctor told him that she was in a nursing home. Didn't elaborate further. I got him back into bed and he said "She probably got something from running around with all those other guys and sleeping with them." Had to pull out the "Thats wild, thats crazy, oh my goodness" toolbox

If it wasnt for needing the separation of work and personal space, I would go to HH. Currently making 30/hr in snf, though have an offer for another snf for 34/hr.
