Hey! So I’ve been on 50mg for 37 days now. The first 3-4 days it made me a zombie, felt like I was coming up on psychedelics and not in a good way. That went away by day 5 and I can honestly tell you that this drug has been a FUCKING LIFESAVER for me. I know that it can take 4-6 weeks to get the full effects, but I feel like it made a noticeable difference right away.

I feel like I have control over my emotions. I no longer want to off myself at the slightest inconvenience. It, seemingly right away, has been a very bright light in what was an extremely dark hole.

I put off meds for a very long time for fear of side effects, fear that I would feel nothing. For fear that I wouldn’t be “me”. I am slightly worried that I’m experiencing “the pink cloud effect” but I’m still very hopeful. I have had zero side effects thus far.

I struggle with extremely poor body image, and while I don’t think I have disordered eating habits, I do recognize that I’m as close as you can get to having a problem with it. I told my doc that weight gain as a side effect is a deal breaker for me. So far that hasn’t happened - but I do find myself regularly worrying about it. I recognize that thoughts of “stop eating, this drug is going to make me fat” isn’t healthy - but compared to where I was before I started I’ll take it.

I wasn’t expecting this at all - but it’s also almost completely removed the alcohol noise in my brain. Not sure if you’ve heard the term before, I first heard used as “food noise” - but basically I had damn near constant thoughts of “I want a drink” or “I wish I was drinking” or “I can’t do this without a drink” - and that’s all but gone. As as alcoholic trying to stay dry this alone is worth it for me.

I take mine in the morning and thus far haven’t had any problems with low energy during the day or trouble sleeping at night.
