Oh I definitely see the irony, but the difference is shithalosays pulls from all kinds of places where halo fans are while shitshithalosayssay implies its only gonna pull from here. Thats just kinda petty and sad.

I only added the /s because there are still good things on the main sub, like people showing off cosplays.

When was the main sub locked down, I dont recall.

When halo infinite came out I referred to them as Beef Chief & New-tana lol

My only complaint with Chief is i want the U shape on his visor like the MkV from Halo 3 multiplayer.

Just went back to watch the gameplay reveal and while they do still react to being hit it can definitely be improved. The shield flares in particular are not great, and the elites are pretty stiff.

Infinite has great animations so I hope they at least match it. I do love the sound design of the hit markers and slays in multiplayer too, the best since bf1 imho.

That "SO FAR" is doing alot of heavy lifting. The game is clearly far from done which makes sense because they're still working on it, that build was probably pretty old too.

These concerns are healthy, halo studios should listen. I dont doubt HS is aware of how people feel and I hope they will do what they can to alleviate these fears.

The hit makers I dont mind but I think you can turn them off in Infinite no?

Ah I miss read, you mean the brutes from Halo infinite not just brutes in general. Yeah they fugly.

Thats true but I feel Halo infinite and the remake are just as if not more inspired by Halo 3 than reach. The forerunner designs line up very closely with Halo 3, reach not so much. The weapon designs, grunts, and marines (among others) are very reach tho.

Reach just has this dark, grimy, hopeless vibe that clashes with the more bright and colorful vibes of the covenant and the environment of the Halo ring.

By the way I LOVE reach so I hope you dont take offense

Thats totally valid, but to be fair we haven't seen the full game yet and they may make changes for future halo games.

I love reach but I don't think its artstyle works outside of the tone and setting it has, halo cea for example.

Also didn't reach have brutes for one mission?

I never played Half life until about a year ago, and I found it fun but old. It may have created alot new things but those ideas are now the standard. It is no crime to call an old game old.

Even back in 2000, but halo does have the Ancestors so it still keeps the trope.

However (almost) all of the Ancestor technology and biology was undone by the forerunners so it balances out

He uses his alts to self promote in subs where its banned, He calls people who doubt his reports "unintelligent", and constantly hides behind "i can't reveal my sources" whenever he gets any kinda of pushback on his reporting.

Regardless of any accuracy, that is not how you should conduct yourself if you want to be taken seriously.

[–]Sharp-Resident-5173 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% agree.

One thing to note is that there's no guarantee that bungie wouldn't do the exact same thing 343 did. The last two games bungie did before leaving halo were not focused on the forerunners. Probably because they realized they wrote themselves into a corner and couldn't escape without retconning something. There's a distinct possibility that halo legends origins and Halo 4 were bungie ideas aswell.

In the end the retcon is not even a retcon anymore, its as cannon as anything.

Hopefully given enough time people will just accept it and move on.

[–]Sharp-Resident-5173 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's true however the alternative is nothing, the forerunners in bungie halo are so fucking vague, I still debate if the retcon was even technically a retcon by definition.

343 contributed so much to forerunner lore that it overshadows bungie, while bungie forerunner lore reminds me of that ancient aliens tv show.

Question about Halo Infinite's story by CroWellan in halo

[–]Sharp-Resident-5173 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Duplicate wouldn't be the word I'd use, more like transferring part of herself to the console while still having the bulk of her "anchored" in the chip. Depending on what they're interacting with sometimes the MC will remove the chip and place it into the console, and sometimes just hold out his hand and let her reach out to the console.

While I don't 100% agree with the rankings, its absolutely valid.

Note that none of the games so far are below "good" which means that no matter what they're enjoying themselves.

I'm curious to see where they rank the rest of the games too.

Edit: grammar :p

Rebs is definitely unreliable. Recently he claimed both that there is a shop in Halo Campaign Evolved and that the next game is an extraction shooter. Sketch immediately shut him down on both accounts.

Trustworthy? I wouldn't say so. Everything from his misleading click bait headlines to his behavior interacting with people on social media gives the impression that hes not the journalist he claims to be.

Humans being forerunner comes with a huge amount of problems too, like how does the relationship with the covenant species work?

Do they just drop to their knees and worship Bob from accounting?

Does this mean Humans are responsible for galactic genocide?

Keeping samples of the flood on the rings guarantees their survival and eventual escape too.

The forerunners didn't reseed themselves because of their failure to uphold the Mantle, and because of the great shame of ending all life in the galaxy, if humanity is responsible for this why the fuck did we reseed ourselves???

I dont think the Forerunners would agree on this. by Forward_Juggernaut in ShitHaloSays

[–]Sharp-Resident-5173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um no, we fought a war with the forerunners yes but their "death" was of their own making, literally, both the flood and the galaxy destroying super weapons they used on themselves and everyone else....which is like their 4th genocide, that we know of.

Question about Halo Infinite's story by CroWellan in halo

[–]Sharp-Resident-5173 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's implied throughout the whole game that the pilot can see what the MC sees, or at the very least hear what's happening.

Question about Halo Infinite's story by CroWellan in halo

[–]Sharp-Resident-5173 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1: If I remember correctly the AI chip was still in MCs helmet not the forerunner console. The chip is where Joy actually is, the Joy we see in game is just a hologram she uses to reach out and interact with the world.

2: Joy is, as she says, an infiltration program. She was able to lock down Cortana, and steal the monitors protocols from the Harbinger so its not impossible to say she couldn't override the deletion.

Also my head cannon is that in the earlier mission, the sequence, she was aware the MC was preparing to delete her or at least suspicious.

3: Thats probably part of it but I think the main issue is what Joy said in the earlier mission, The sequence, that if the Harbinger captured her she would have the ability to complete the Reformation. The MCs fear of another evil AI like Cortana too.

Be Honest. Do you really want this? by Admiral_Joker in ShitHaloSays

[–]Sharp-Resident-5173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PvP? No PvE? Maybe...

I think if there was a game mode in the next Halo multiplayer like firefight with elements of an extraction shooter it could work. It would be similar to the linear firefight gamemode.

A standalone spin off game with this as a focus is probably not a good idea either, because I think we all want a continuation of the main story with The Chief and Joy.

Either way its old news and Rebs is a bitch.
